Totally agree. PHP7's speed is awesome. And the service that the author points out (Laravel Forge) provisions VPSes with PHP7.

The author is totally right about Forge, I have never EVER had a better provisioning experience.

I've been living completely off of my oDesk earnings for the last year. My rates are usually between 35-50 dollars/hr

I'm pretty sure there are tons of folks out there just like me living comfortable lives with their oDesk earnings.

Seriously. All I could think is,this is one of the world's toughest problems?

I get the spirit behind the idea of giving kids money to tinker, but this creates what's equivalent to a programmer who has only learned from stackoverflow and w3schools. There is a lot missing that's still part of the standard college curriculum, and the worlds problems will most likely need just as much theory as practical understanding.

I understand that LifeShield may not be a popular company, and that their rep was totally in the wrong in this matter. But the level of outrage shown by Jeremy is just ludicrous. They apologized several times over and explained that they were dealing with cranking out a job under extremely tight deadlines (something we should all be familiar with) and managed to screw up.

The 4-5 instances of apologies, retraction of threat, and admittance of error should have been enough. But it seems like OP felt so entitled to being treated like a 5-star customer that he had to complain till he was spent.
