HL2 is good old FPS game.

There is no way in hell they could release it as a VR game and not as regular FPS game. That would be just really bad move from Valve.

I have never heard about this "fame", yet I cannot think about game that is 30-only fps?

I can think a lot of games that are ue1-4 that are not bound by fps limits at all.

Editor in UE4 is streamlined from what UE3 was. Its now quite easy in the end.

Adding HTML to the GUI coding is re-inveting the wheel. There are native toolkits for UI, there are crossplatform UI libraries for a reason. They work, they are fast.

No need to add extra layers on top of those.

But with the advent of 8-16+ GB of ram in consumer computers can we really say 2-3GB for windows rendering is heavy?

This attitude is why we have phones with 1G of memory and 1Ghz+ CPU's lagging when just trying to read email.

Yes, there is more memory available than before, but that doesn't mean we should just waste it for useless stuff.

For example if we eat 2-3GB of memory on a system with 8GB of memory, thats over 25% of the usage. Then some applications that are actually used. (Let me use my own process mem counts here...) 1.3Gb for Firefox, 0.6Gb for Android emulator, 0.5Gb for Visual studio....

And there would have gone over half of the 8GB of ram!

I am sure my current memory usage would be half of what its now if developers would actually give some shit about memory usage... Not just allocate too much memory because "there is so much memory it doesn't matter"

Make good enough library, keep the source valid and the persons will come.

I have never done any special SEO tricks and yet all my content is fairly high on the results.

SEO in general is quite useless in my opinion. Make the content good enough so that people want to visit the site! Don't trick people to come there.

Exactly, KDE3 was just awesome, I don't see point of fixing something thats not broken.

I still think KDE4 is missing lot of the "feel" that KDE3 had.

Applications in the KDE3 time were also better, good example is Amarok.

They didn't even open the latest Id tech to public... They didn't even go to the game.

It has nothing to do with vehicles.

Totally different from C#:sa GC.

The GC in unreal engine is used to know when what entity should be removed from the game. (If you have multiple entities pointing each other.)

The memory allocation still works how it works in C++.

Haha.

Note how many games have come out using UE3, think about the royalties coming in.

Also, right now they have just about the best game-engine, only hobbyists and some indies would choose Unity, mostly because its easier.

UE4 will definitely get several high profile games soon from big AAA companies.

I would say that Unity is in deep trouble right now :P

You can use the blueprints to create the game, you can also use the C++ to create the game.

You can also mix up the blueprints and C++.

At this point Unity only really has simplicity because of the lack of features, and well if people are too scared about C++.

I have seen people giving up on C++ without actually even trying to learn it.

Somehow all these pointers are "scary" and "hard". And people are usually trying to learn C++ the wrong way. (Lets download this big library/framework and figure out by doing)

IF there weren't App Stores or anything, it would be possible to download applications from websites.

So basically you would distribute the same way as in PC. You buy the install files in physical/digital form and install it. Then enter cd-key or something.

And of course somebody would come and make some kind of store to make the purchasing easier just like on PC. (for example Steam)

And yeah. Its ridiculous when Apple/Google take shares of the profits, comparing to what UE4 for example takes.

Somehow I am sick of people taking this up all the time when some project is written in C / C++.

C for example isn't really that complex language and using C++ well isn't that hard. Somehow I feel that users of the "easier" languages decide that c++ is impossible to learn before they even bother trying it.

     30 helloworld/whitespace
     59 helloworld/shakespeare.shakespeare
     65 helloworld/chef.chef
     25 helloworld/omgrofl.omgrofl
     20 helloworld/delphi.pas
     22 helloworld/x86.asm

Copy pasted some of the biggest ones.

I added a dialog that asks the user rate the app, remind later or just ignore it.

The trick is to add the dialog to show up on like 5-10 startup off the app.

If the user is starting the application after 5 tries, he is going to like it. And provided the way to rate it in couple of clicks, the user usually gives positive ratings.

So, everytime you slow down you need to go from 120mph to 0 under 3 secs? On that situation brakes are useful.

When you need to go from 50mph to 30mph you dont need brakes at all.

Fuel usage is 0 when you slow down without brakes... When you use brakes your engine needs fuel to idle. (Assuming you are using manual transmission, and on automatic you can force down the gear to do the same.)

Its using some custom fonts or something, weird icons showing up where I would assume there is some nice looking icons...
