Agreed to some extent (I think exploration is not boring, or at least it shouldn't be). To be fair, it seems like the dev team has already put out a big update, and plans to continue to add things. I just don't know what the scope/scale of those future updates will be though, aside that they'll all be free.

I was hoping that we'd be able to build buildings and colonize planets. It'd make particular planets feel more special and give you more incentive to stick around. And if they ever got around to doing this, it'd be great if we could build things wall by wall in great detail instead of just "ok, plop down prefabricated factory here".

That's not in Thor on (desktop) Reason is it? I don't remember seeing it, but it's a really cool feature imo. I always have trouble fine tuning knobs, and I haven't figured out how to map them to my midi controller (the preset that it said would work didn't work. I can, at most, get one slider to map to a random knob). The pop up slider seems much easier to use with a mouse, even if the motions are relatively the same.

I'd believe that. I grew up on The Beatles and The Beach Boys, and now I listen to just about anything that seems "musical" enough to me. All genres, there's a commonality there, as you said. I'm glad my parents exposed me to (what I believe is) top quality songwriting and melodies since I was little.

This topic makes me wonder what sorts of music, if any, people who are less musically inclined were exposed to at a young age. I've met people that say they don't like music, or people who couldn't hum a tune from memory, and it seems so foreign to me. I don't consider myself to be particularly gifted - it seems like basic stuff. Yet there are plenty of people out there who know music about as well as I know sports (not at all). Hopefully that didn't come off as elitist or anything

It's still important to note that newer gamers are becoming more and more unwelcoming of non-free or at least "high" priced games. I remember loads of people throwing a hissy fit about Overwatch being $40, despite it being a very well polished AAA title.

I don't know how much longer the game industry can expect its target audience to spend $60 each on piles of games. Things have been trending towards freemium for long enough that it almost seems weird when the game that everyone's playing is not free(ish).

My point being, if enough people aren't buying console+game anymore, would the opportunity cost of doing it on mobile instead be that bad?

Yes. I'm not sure if I need to re-log in the app or not though. Maybe if it didn't freeze and I didn't have to re-log then it might have left the access revoked. But it seems that once I re-log the full access goes back into effect.

on iPhone 6s, checked and saw it had full access. I revoked access and opened the app up. It was stuck loading so I logged out and back in. Went back to check app permissions on google and it had full access again.

also, save up a bunch of Pokemon ready to evolve (such as the ever plentiful Pidgey) and do them all at once with a Lucky Egg. 500 xp per evolution turns to 1000, making leveling pretty fast. The last few days I've been saving all of my stuff until the end of the day to evolve and easily pick up 12k+ xp

it's tempting to evolve everything as soon as you can, but waiting to do batch evolutions with double xp is much more effective

You don't understand oppression at all. Oppression is when you put flower petals between pages of a book to flatten them. Thus, humans cannot be oppressed.

is it working?

I feel like I'm in the minority when I say that I actually enjoy the long passages of scenery descriptions. I really like soaking in the atmosphere.

I'm in the same boat. I suppose I'm partially living under a rock when it comes to current events, but I hadn't considered the notion of salaries for ISIS members and my first thought was that this might be from The Onion.

but you're saying that you'd do it just because it's available? Surely that just means that you do want to do it, no?

He's saying he'd do it if it's the only thing available

To rephrase another comment in the other submission - how do we know/can we infer so much about a planet so far away when we are just now getting reasonable pictures of Pluto?

Looking at the images (aside from the artist interpretation), it looks like they're just guessing based on size and location?

Yeah I found that the players' eyes were mostly useless but often times the composition of the photo is helpful. For example, if players are gathered on the right edge of the frame and there's a bunch of blank space to the left, the ball is likely over in the open area

Not facing who you just drafted against would be absolutely horrible. Magic sets are designed with draft in mind, and the draft tournament structure takes advantage of the rotating aspect of the draft portion. When you see your 14 potential picks, you know that a number of them are coming back to you and you get to pick another one later. You also know that every card you don't pick is potentially going to be in one of your opponent's decks.

Being aware of what's opened in a draft as well as what's being passed has an impact on how you pick (for example: tons of red cards keep going by - table isn't into red, so you can A) wheel red cards easier, and B) bank on not running into a hyper aggressive deck and build accordingly). If you were thrown into a match against someone who didn't draft at your table, they might have a deck that wasn't supported by the collective pool opened at your table and you'll be caught completely off guard.

ex-military surplus

maybe reallocating funds from military to de-escalation training would reduce surplus and improve police image and effectiveness.

Yes, Glass always garnered a bit too much attention for me. It's really awkward when people ask to try it on and you don't want to hand over your $1500 device to a stranger.

It suffered from the additional issue of negative social interaction - some people (luckily none that I've run into) are really opposed to face-phone (Glass) as opposed to in-your-pocket-or-hand-phone. I don't really understand why people think you're invading their privacy just because of an unusual device form factor.
