I have a VM running Windows Server that hosts MS SQL Server and websites under IIS. I use Robocopy and PowerShell to copy daily and weekly file backups, as well as SQL backup scripts for the databases. The backups are then stored on a separate drive, which has a nightly copy to remote storage and deletes files older than 30 days. Occasionally, I manually copy the backups from remote storage to a local computer.

It only takes a minute to restore if needed, but the problem is if the OS goes down (which has happened once in the last 10 years due to a disk failure), it takes several hours to reinstall everything from scratch.

It would be very popular move for every EU politician to fast track Scotland to EU. But yes, it would be complicated to separate from UK and become independent. Becoming EU member would not be that complicated.

much money Google has thus far sunk into Fuchsia for (AFAICT) very little in return. It was in the billions... years ago.

Thanks! This looks like amazing project. I just installed Minetest and learning it. :)

This Wikipedia link actually describes it well. I am originally from Finland but been living abroad most of my life. After few years abroad I learned that there is no use to correct people "Finland is not Scandianvia" because apart from Finland and actual Scandinavia rest of the world says Scandinavia.

Thanks for start.me. I just registered. I forgot these kind of portals still exist. I used to have netvibes.com but for some reason I stopped using it. I will give another try with Start.me.

Another variation would be to do the daily on Slack which can even be asynchronous.

That is exactly what I do. Every morning answer 3 things in Slack. It is also good way to say "Good morning, now I start to work on X, yesterday I did Z and I need some help on Y.

I wonder as being privacy focused, why did they not put Brave as recommended browser instead of Firefox?

I have Huawei Matebook with Windows. Very good laptop. But I had to buy Macbook Pro as well when I got project with iOS.

So, now I have 2 newish laptops. I think Macbook is still better when I code anything else than .NET. Thanks to the terminal. Matebook in hardware is better, really good screen. Also it looks good. After all it is Macbook Air knock off.

They talk about Content Management, why not do some development on Google Sites finally. It seems like it's been idle for 10 years. I would like to see some love for Google Sites so small businesses could use it make a proper looking website where content management would be over Google Docs.

I have worked in the open office all my career but couple of years ago I got contract job on the customer who gave me tiny office with small window. That silence was amazing, if I wanted to talk to someone I could just walk out of office and knock the door or book a meeting. Otherwise, I could just code. It was the most productive time of my career, too bad it ended and I returned back to modern times.
