Case in point, a client of mine (one of the top 2 or 3 US corporations you might think of off the top of your head outside of tech) wanted to start publishing a daily email digest of content aggregated from all their content outlets. I tell them OK, send me all your feeds, I'll whip it up in no time, and there it was, delivered early and under budget. They publish on Wordpress, Tumblr, etc, sites that give you RSS feeds without work.

It's much easier to go to /rss and get the content than have to coordinate with however many teams and organizations it took to create all those sites.

If you worked at the big corporation where I worked, and they became aware of your side work, they would have asked you to either give it to them if it was of significant interest or leave the company. A former coworker of mine found himself in this situation and left the company.

I found myself in this situation too, but after an investigation the company was not significantly interested in my work enough to pursue it further.

Edit: I should add that plenty of groups within our company, while officially bound to the same agreement, were unofficially free to do similar work without consequence. Our group suffered from a leader who wanted to do things "by the book".

The last time I used Hugin was about 5 years ago, but at the time it was my go-to software for panoramas. To get the best results you want to have a good amount of overlap between the images, and make sure everything is very level. You can't see too much detail there, but I have a 6' long print of that image and it's perfect.

I would have to assume that at some point the cost of two dozen countries looking in between every nook and cranny of 1/3 of the planet exceeds the cost of a two-way position updating system, not to mention the value of being able to avoid even one disaster like this and whatever potential related disasters we have yet to see.

Roasting definitely helps, and I don't worry too much about how much olive oil I coat vegetables with.

For example, I'll roast some cauliflower for 45 minutes, and then I can eat it like that or mash it like potatoes (tastes way better than mashed potatoes to me).

String beans I'll coat with olive oil and chipotle powder and that tastes great.

They probably use a HTTP Live Streaming-like approach to test the connection quality before serving you a set of clips. Changing channels is more like changing playlist files starting at whatever index.
