I'm with you on this, OP is being egocentric and playing a zero sum game which it clearly isn't.

Do you never see content that has no connection to your viewing habits?
It happens all the time and I got hit with the warts and pimples a few months back, just a counter point, I watch YT daily.
It's mostly shorts where you will see it
I got those for a bit but it was a couple months back.
YT algo is so messed up and it seems the more they try to shape the content people view, the easier it gets for bad actors to exploit the algo.
Shorts are the absolute worst for it and it's why I mostly stick to my subs page over the home page.
Thank goodness for that too. Star Control 2 was too good of a game to lose and is one of the best examples of this.
Star citizen has a very basic version of FoIP, it does help convey emotive state even if a little janky.
Add in stuff like head tracking and you get a very natural feeling to interacting. Give me haptics and I'll be super happy.
Hand gestures go a long way too
Yeah I don't mean Sam is a jerk but there is an element of dishonesty that twigs me.
Elon isn't above reproach either but I share interest with him (aka Robert Heinlein) which informs me on his decision making process.
I gotten SBF vibes from him for awhile now.
Elon split was the warning
Nope, we do not. I was annoyed when he pivoted away from the mission but otherwise don't really care.
Stability AI is looking better after this shitshow.
People using watches as a store ify value is more a commentary on the state of fiat financial networks.
A Rolex has scarcity value, and can act as a deflationary asset is what's at play there.
I do believe they are having a correction right now as the luxury market starts to bottom.
He didn't even make a point, just gave us a fact about their social support programs.
Clearly paternal leave doesn't fix the core problem since it's been there, and grown, over the entire time the birth rate has fallen.
It doesn't even make sense to do it unless both parents have exceptional careers, and most people just have mundane jobs.
Both parents have to work, if you want to increase birth rates then you can't force everyone to be a dual income family.
You'll notice that all the high birth rates are with single income family structures.
And you would be correct, if people drilled down into the data you'd see the birth rate drops off massively by 2nd/3rd gen when they hit the modern world.
It's the Amish and Mennonites that seem to retain people well by having it be optional.
America is more likely to be Amish than anything else if we got solely by the trend.
I'd say there is a lot more too it than that
People are really missing this point within this whole issue.
Falling demographics is also more than a single total number, the age ranges matter as well.
if it's used for productivity increases only.
We are well past that point.
It will be war, it's always war that changes the social order.
Changing the financial network cannot be solved by planting a few more trees, you need to have a solution that values labor over rents again.
So issue cannot be addressed unless the other is equally addressed.
Seems like you are just projecting and are coming off as a disingenuous with the what-about-ism.
They aren't evenly that closely related other than being resources, so why even link the two?
Seems like your response may have been fraudulent
I'm with you in that except the nothing of value has been created, which I would tweak to nothing new of value has been created.
I've spent more than an hour with the tools, ChatGPT and SD being my two big buckets and it's great for productivity within some areas, mostly in fast mockup/art and creative writing, mostly fiction level.
I've use it to format and transform my own work, and as a tool it's useful.
Like any of these tools, early adopters get an edge for a bit and then the market adoption rolls out and we equalize.
I see it mostly filling in the 80% of the easy stuff, with humans stepping in for that last 20%, which has been my approach with good success.
However the hype train around it has gone past annoying and into downright scammish/spamish marketing.
Oh I could tell you work in finance, that was obvious from the language usage and technical terminology.
I'm not going to write an essay to refute this, we shouldn't have to as the results are obvious, aka how's that Big Mac index doing on the 10y.
Do you know who Henry Duncan was, what his value prop was, and how/why it died?
The end game was inevitable, and very senior people were ignored in the 80s when the flaws where pointed out.
What you have stated here, I would argue it is the perception people have of what transpired, you saved the banks but are you really saying there was no cost, and if so where did the value generation come from and at who's expense?
We are talking about different points of view, and I do realize what I'm saying can be viewed as a critique of your value, and many more like you, however I'm not.
I understand, and agree with you, that like yourself many many people have been doing amazing work to keep the financial networks flowing.
The critique is with erosion of purchasing power of our store of value, the average person is not a wall street guy and didn't understand that Henry's value prop died in 1971 and how to store value completely changed.
| but am always surprised by the populist hot takes from folks so far removed from the system
Why are you surprised, serious question. The system isn't straight forward and there are elements that are just straight up dishonest, and unless you work in the industry you won't really understand all these things.
I would argue that the networks are designed this way now, versus how they used to work and this is where people's understanding of how it's supposed work, and the disconnect you see, derives from.
Tax payers” paid nothing, and benefited from the recovery from the disorderly Lehman collapse and the credit squeeze that caused. There’s a lot of speculation that the relatively mild inflation the US experienced post pandemic was due to all the QE and other moves the government and governmental bodies did, as well as pandemic stimulus
This is completely wrong and naive, please let us know what agency you work for.
You say stuff like that with an references, for the record everytime the money printer is run the tax payers, aka bag holders, pay out the ass.
Saying the inflation is mild is not agreed with, where are you getting that from?
If you think beavers can be destructive, wait until meet a Fisher.
Literal Rodents of unusual size and very ill tempered
I posted a reply about Brave and got shouted down about it being a clone but I was sure it was a fork.
Thank you for the confirmation
I've migrated my desktops to Brave a while ago, it's just mobile I've been lazy on..whelp here is the motivation haha
You mean Brave
Absolute legend, it was a different time during that era.
I'd bet dollars to donuts the tech that fixed it knew what you were doing and let it slide unless you came back and broke the lock to do it again.
Or you got lucky and he though someone on their side made the mistake :)
Good times!
No it's not, go read the wealth of Nations to understand.
The over production started before we adopted fossil fuels.
I can, and do, leave it at home
That's called extortion....
Interesting point and one that I feel applies equally to Product Manager, another catch all title that has a ton of stuff thrown in.
IMO there are 3 distinct roles that product gets thrown into, 4 really but the technical product manager is completely different.
Research/data, operations and UI/UX and then the 4th being the technical product manager.
The person that maps and sets up the metrics, KPIs, product intelligence and knowing the business model is very different from the person that knows the UX flow and can inform the UI.
The problem IMO lies in the middle management layer, maybe ai will be able crack that but for us ;)
It seems to be a problem all over many disciplines tbh
Stress is a catch all medicine uses when they have no idea.
Did anyone check your gut flora and provide an analysis, did anyone every take a sample before to compare to?
Diet changes is probably heavy protein, some greens, no carbs type style?
I'd recommend diving into probiotics, you'll get very little help from most doctors as they don't know shit about it (pun intended!)
Years and years of IBS like symptoms, like 20+ years of it. Probiotics, fermented foods, protein and greens...I shit like a god now.
Stress affects stuff, that's normal but it's never a single source issue when it comes to overall health.
If you ain't pooping right, solve that first.
It's an interesting point but one that is flaw as the market isn't open.
The problem is reverse, we thought they were giving the network what it wanted but it's clear now it's a narrative to push a world view that may or may not reflect reality.
We started with trust and moved to conspiracy:)
Fyi it did Jack squat to payday loans, there are more and more stores opening all the time and they pivoted into term loans.
Can't fix any of this until the fiat network is fixed.
In Canada it's the big 5 banks that provide the liquidity to the payday loan network.
It's entirely possible to get it down to $5 per $100..which is still a shit deal but way better than $23 per 100 but ain't gonna happen while the big 5 is making bank
