I always get tricked into thinking "Hey, some new stuff from Alan Kay" - only to find some link to something he said years ago. Perhaps putting the year in the title (2004 - or whatever the year the material is from) might prevent people who really like and follow Kay from getting their hopes up.

OLEDs use considerably more power (the power varies according to color) and typically have a smaller pitch - so to get the same physical size screen would require a higher resolution. Or, to put it another way, using the same resolution with OLEDs would result in a screen that was physically smaller. I believe OLEDs are more expensive than TFT but I'm not sure how the price compares to the ICP variety. Also, the useful life of OLEDs is currently less than that of TFT LCDs.

Scanning resolution is probably higher now but you most likely still have to break it into multiple scans due to the platter diameter of an LP and the fact that most scanners are designed to scan paper documents. Duh, I guess.

The Machinist is up there with Memento and Vanilla Sky. The Butterfly Effect might be in that league (directors cut only - different ending than the theatrical release).
