There's a high quality slow motion video available [1] that shows the problem was almost certainly a failed pressure tank, not the engines.
Because the major categories are very hard to cut:
Social Security: 22% Interest on the Debt: 14% Medicaid: 14% Medicare: 14% National Defense: 13%
That's 77% of the budget in those categories.
Everything else is 23%. The Federal deficit is ~25% of receipts.
You could cut each and every function of the government other than the above and still be left with a deficit. And there isn't a lot of room to cut everything else, as they've already been squeezed for decades.

I was also amused by a UX complaint on a site that is totally borked in a non-obvious way on Firefox.
It's not totally broken, it shows the first frame of the image, there's just no indication at all that the image is actually meant to be a video, there is no play control, and it just looks like a static image.

For the second test, my wife reluctantly gave me permission to try out FSD for interstate driving, which should be its best case scenario.

In a perfect world where we had an unlimited supply of batteries, charging infrastructure, and all-renewable electricity, BEVs would be best.

It's worth noting that when George Sowers and ULA did their well-known business case analysis for re-use (nearly 10 years ago, in 2015), their analysis concluded that it would take 10 flights to pay-off the penalty of re-use.
The analysis was flawed from the start, because it falsely assumed you could charge for every kg of capacity, but in reality customers are largely paying by flight, and much of the Falcon 9 capacity is unused.
But even according to their flawed analysis, they assumed there would never be a need for so many flights, and re-use would just eat into their production line productivity, raising the cost of each rocket.
These false assumptions caused them not to pursue any real type of reusabilty. Though they proposed a janky system where the engines would be recovered by parachute and helicopter, they never funded it, and the current Vulcan doesn't support any type of reuse.
Flash forward to today, and ULA has a contract for possibly 83 launches from Amazon for Kuiper.

Okay, it was the McDonald's hamburger that seems to have been $0.15 in 1963. That is $1.53 in CPI-inflated 2024 dollars.
The cost today is $2.19. That's about a 0.6% difference in the compounding inflation rate over 61 years.
It was two years of effort from at least one guy and more likely a team.

You are conflating entirely different statistics. For every stat other than driverless vehicles, you used the fatality rate. For autonomous vehicles, you used the accident rate, and you included all manufacturers and a stat from 3 years ago.

Not directly the point of the article, but is it fair to say driverless cars are still just demos when they're operating on every street, road, and freeway from San Francisco to San Jose, with tens of millions of passenger miles?
I feel like once there are paying customers sitting in the vehicles, it's not a demo, it's a reality.
I'm perplexed how you're talking about this like it's a common problem people have had, something that's been ongoing for years.
There is no stuttering problem on audio playback on any of the smart phones you've listed. And there hasn't been any stuttering problem since the initial launch of the first generation iPhone.
The last time I remember any stuttering on any phone I've owned was maybe the Motorola Rokr twenty years ago.
You must have some sort of accessory problem.
