Exporting our broken form of governing, which is rife with corruption, mismanagement, unresponsive to the majority of the population, and defaults to redirecting money from the poorest to the richest, is the goal of western monopoly capital.

Basically "Our broken system allowed capital to rob 400 million people, let's utilize it in robbing 1.4 billion Chinese people next..."

Any idea that the American and European elite are pushing this for "benevolent purposes" flies in the face of a few centuries of well documented western history.

Reddit's definition seems more contextual, it weighs the dynamics of current economic, cultural, institutional, etc... racism

Here is the Oxford dictionary definition:

"The inability or refusal to recognize the rights, needs, dignity, or value of people of particular races or geographical origins. More widely, the devaluation of various traits of character or intelligence as ‘typical’ of particular peoples. The category of race may itself be challenged, as implying an inference from trivial superficial differences of appearance to allegedly significant underlying differences of nature; increasingly evolutionary evidence suggests that the dispersal of one original people into different geographical locations is a relatively recent and genetically insignificant matter."

This is actually great news, China is returning to a pre-western interference/corruption state.

In the end it seems the phony protests and other types of agitation funded by western intelligence agencies and capital weren't successful.

99% sure China's remaining illegal drug problem is further reduced thanks to this news. The criminals will now have to peddle their garbage elsewhere if all goes according to plan.

Hopefully Taiwan is next...

Is there any proof these protests were foreign funded? From my understanding this was a grassroots democracy movement.

Now we knows what this feels like...

We had a lot of sanction happy presidents and the American population barely bat an eye-lid as millions died from the fallout.

Only thing lost in this case is money, so far.

This is the problem with only having 4-5 media companies as well, you have a point.

Every media organization aligned against Saddam when the intelligence agencies (US govt) signaled it, with 0 evidence.

Lot of truth to the funding sources for HK protests originating in the west even if the protestors believe in what they are fighting for.

A democratic society can fix laws that don't live up to its ideals. A lawless, autocratic society cannot.

China has mechanisms to change laws but they have to be routed through the proper channels. From what I understand, individuals can complain all they want, as long as they don't organize outside of these designated channels.

This definitely pisses off the % of western governments that use "grassroots" movements as an attack vector to undermine unfavorable foreign governments.

The "well planned" foreign infrastructure projects have had positive impacts on the local communities and economies.

They provide access to loans from an alternative world bank at competitive rates with less strings attached.

Adding depth/liquidity to global markets is beneficial to participants.

Not the world vs China, it has always been the West vs China, European leaders' "zero sum" mentality has made it an economic target for the better part of 2+ centuries.

Please don't include the majority of the world that is benefiting from a new benevolent economic actor on the block.

I heard this fraud implemented in Texas forces low income people without vehicles to travel 400+ miles by bus to the nearest DMV to get the correct replacement voting documentation (many seniors/disabled).

When conservatives (racists) attack voters using economics (in this case a voter tax), they know precisely which non-white voters they are targeting.

Wow this thread reeks of classism.

You can't imagine an American that cannot afford $50-100 for a government I.D.? You can imagine (& possibly smell) the feces on the street but not the poor people who excrete it?

We know most Americans can't come up with $400 for an emergency, are you going to act like this won't impact voting?

This thread is why people are forcing diversity quotas even when it seems unnecessary, income diversity should be next.

Something that isn't intuitive about our monetary shift is that as we debase the USD, we also debase the most desperate/marginalized of our population.

It is a feature of our system that is only accelerated by income inequality and labor price suppression.

No need for propaganda when one can reference history books and current affairs.

No doubt there will be a day when China could become more democratic but initiating this too early in development opens many attack vectors.

Anybody who truly cares about China doesn't want to introduce the risk of Chinese leaders being picked from outside its borders.

Yes, our prop group made quite a bit with out-of-the-money AAPL 135 puts (AAPL will hit this strike price again).

Alarms bells are ringing in this market... If your good at risk management and can initiate low cost perma-bearish positions, you will be rewarded heavily over the next year or so.

Alpha chasers that don't have risk management skills should just buy Bitcoin (dont sleep on this, the halvening is May 2020-ish). Dollar-Cost-Averaging will get you a decent entry price.

Warning: Bought more 120,130,140 AAPL puts in prep for next collapse, if your in my way, I will literally eat your lunch.

Good luck guys!
