There was as far as marketing. My family members stopped asking me about ads they saw on TV for IBM's quantum computers.

At my school the password was the person’s username. Someone guessed it one day. Which in hindsight was inevitable when the login screen was exposed to hundreds of bored kids every day.

If it is a female my misophonia suggests it is Mary Louise Kelly. I've gotten used to it. There is also a male voice on one of the weekend shows that might be who you're describing.

I wrote in to a cable TV show a decade ago to call out the nose hair whistling and mouth sounds. They never replied to me, but they rolled off the highs for the remainder of the shows.

It's just an emitter and detector with a fan pushing air between them. It counts any particle large enough to block the light source. If you look up the sensor there is a datasheet which describes how they arrive at the counts.
