The irony of the push for "diversity" everywhere is that it all gets averaged together over time, becoming more homogeneous. To increase diversity, you need zones of heterogeneity that express wider differences.

It's not a strawman, it's watered down by being averaged with things like software prices and flatscreen TVs going down.

Yes but it's super barebones. Its successor, Ryan Dahl's second attempt at JS runtime, Deno, has a much fuller standard library (inspired by Go).

Customer support is provided for sub $20 items from e commerce sites who don't have Google's market cap. Not to mention that a customer support agent's time isn't exactly worth hundreds of dollars an hour.

The manager of your company should get out of 1920 and find out about talking to the employees like a person and using standard content controls as validation, not weird policing. If you make your workplace a battle, people will find the stuff they want elsewhere and not to talk to you about it if they have questions.

How do I get the same thing going for my software? That is, to get it mandated or legislated that people have to buy it (preferably multiple times: subscription). And no matter what happens, I can't be held liable or pay damages. Sounds like a very solid business model.
