Frankly these tools should be priced per query. One doesn't need mythos to get a french toast recipe or add a few numbers together, but the flat rate subscription rate hides the inefficiency. Maybe a routing filter at the beginning of the query that chooses the right model for the query?

Very cool! I've been playing uke for a few years to help me disconnect from the real world.
Did you go to a luthier school or self taught?
I love this! Thanks for sharing. My job involves reviewing old maps and documents, and I have a special place in my heart for easily accessible archives.
So much cool stuff is freely available at libraries but in practice no one visits them anymore.
You mentioned you're not a fan of this administration. That's -1 on your PalsOfState(tm) score. Your employer has been notified (they know where you work of course), and your spouse's employer too. Your child's application to Fancy University has been moved to the bottom of the pile, by the way the university recently settled a lawsuit brought by the governmentfor admitting too many "disruptors" with low PalsOfState scores. Palantir had provided a way for you to improve you score, click the Donateto47 button to improve your score. We hope you can attend the next political rally in your home town, their cameras will be there to make sure.
you can't criticize someone for poor reasoning while simultaneously making unsupported claims yourself
Creatine does help some. Staying hydrated and good sleep, too.
I'm in a similar situation but with multiple sclerosis for over 15 years. I love to exercise, however on some days a medium-intensity cardio session will leave my brain functioning at like 50% which is not great for my job. I gotta work hard to make sure my gas tank has enough for all the tasks planned for that day. My neurologist calls it Energy Management.
It's like some sort of Cunningham's Law Inception.
Whenever I read about a scientific breakthrough I login to HN to see what the smart people think about it, and am disappointed if there isn't a post with hundreds of comments.
Yes. In any election in which a federal candidate is on the ballot, federal law prohibits any individual or entity, including 501(c)(3) nonprofits, social welfare organizations, and unions, from knowingly and willfully paying, offering to pay, or accepting payment either for registering to vote or voting

Even so, the IP is used to make things which require resources. Disney IP is used to make toys, movies, books, etc, that all require electricity, paper, computers, employees sitting and eating, commuting into the office. Or a vaccine patent will be used to make a vaccine which requires a factory to be built and operated, the product produced, stored, shipped, used, and disposed into a landfill.
Reddit community r/LocalLlama has great info
I'm in the energy sector and have been thinking of fine tuning a local llm on energy-specific legal documents, court cases, and other industry documents. Would this solve some of the problems you mention about producing specific answers? Have you tried something like that?
Morals for thee, but not for me!
Ah thanks for the clarification, I suppose I considered the survivor the superior.
Ha, that took an unexpected but interesting twist!
I wonder how the neanderthals felt when a new, superior(?) species appeared out of nowhere. Is this how we're feeling about technology and AI now? Give technology another thousand years and humans may well be facing the same fate as neanderthals did. Or perhaps like nea/humans, we will find a way to interbreed?
6a user here. No issues.
I went down a very deep rabbit hole looking into the Tang clan/dynasty. So interesting.
Having been through a number of mergers and subsequent layoffs, I can confirm the surviving talent is typically less... Talented.
While some people may have a temperament that predisposes them to having depressive episodes or symptoms
This is me, and that's why I needed medication (bandaids).
I really enjoyed the read, thank you! Though... I get the feeling we're all obsessing over how to live instead of just... Living. About halfway through I got anxiety thinking about how to improve my life.
I agree. You can infer that falsely creating positive results leads to funding leads to prestige, fancy dinners and fancy homes, fancy educations and large inflated egos.
This is an incredible post, thanks for the link! The researches are quite literally photoshopping study images! How is this even legal? Plain vanilla fraud.
Recently science has been pushing back on the "Imbalance" language. https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2022/jul/analysis-depression-prob...
Moreover, it seems to me there are far more people skeptical and ideologically opposed to antidepressants than those supporting it.
SSRI's changed my life for the better and it's a real shame I listened to the naysayers for so long. There's no shame in seeking help and treatment. Something like 8% of American men take an ssri, and based on my own social group's struggles it should probably be well over 50% (I'm exaggerating only slightly).
When I was younger I was naive to think these business leaders were some types of geniuses. Turns out every one of them is just jumping from one hype to the next, hoping something sticks. If it doesn't, write it off. If it hits, they're a genius.
Is there a similar report for Europe?
Feels like you read my mind. I'm disconnected from career and generally feel disappointed with direction of technology. It's quite difficult finding meaning in life surrounded by careerist.
I enjoyed the blog. Where do you find the time to post though, once you're done with work or do you schedule specific time to post?
This trick has helped me a lot. I think to myself "I'm the type of person that . . . " And it helps overcome the mental anguish of should I or shouldn't I. "I'm the type of person that works out everyday," and the decision has already been made.
