Did anyone else have the thought of “should I just list off all the Ubuntu version names that I know and start with that”?

Panasonic does have one that charges over USB (micro-USB input though) so you can use an old 5V Apple brick and only take up one spot. It also supports USB out via a full-size USB-A port. Picked one up since I liked the idea of being able to use AAs in a pinch for recharging.

The whole "everything I own just has a built in Li-ion battery" thing came to mind when I ordered my first set of Eneloops ahead of last week's snowstorm in North America - most things I own have their own batteries with a charger (right down to this decorative squishy whale lamp), and I can count on two hands the things that use AAAs and one hand the things that use AAs. It's wild.

Apparently SmartScreen thinks the site is "dangerous" - not entirely sure why (maybe the newly seen domain) but that was funny to see on launch.

Only mildly surprising - Astro + CF Pages/Workers have been my go-to for when I want to spin up a static site or do anything else and it does feel like they've been really working on the integration between the two.

And yet the Eglinton Crosstown still isn't open... I'm so close to making a site that just lists every project that's started and finished in the entire time that thing has been "under construction".

Ah QGIS. Love working with it (it got me through university + 3 years of being in the planning industry w/o touching Esri)! hated managing it on the Mac admin side (no ARM native build and more importantly no notarized builds). I do hear v4 might fix both issues so I’m looking forward to that next month.

Hard agree on it being odd in both GIS ways and QGIS ways. I just started a new job that pays for ArcGIS Pro and it’s wild how something that seemed intuitive to find on QGIS is buried under menus on Arc Pro, but conversely I’ve definitely seen things that I’m like “that was almost too easy why doesn’t QGIS have this”. And then you have the oddities of GIS

I think the challenge is going to be software, software tuning, and (until everyone builds for both ARM and x64) - translation/emulation. I’ll admit that I haven’t had much experience on the Windows side but I made the leap pretty quickly from the early 2015 MBP to an M1 MBA (like maybe a month after the M1 Macs came out) and it very much was seamless, whereas it still sounds like on the Windows on ARM side it’s been languishing even to this day.
