You can have 99% of validators on Ethereum censor your transaction, and you'll still be eventually included. With 12 second block times, your transaction would be included in roughly 20 minutes.

I think you're missing part of the story with stocks like NVDA. The value of a stock is also based on expectations, so it could be that all of NVDA's growth for the next decade has already been frontrun by the market, and it's essentially partly a prediction market on how valuable the infrastructure will be for AI, given that the chip requirements will only increase as AI systems are implemented in more and more hardware (robots / appliances / transportation / medicine, etc.). While the growth potential of carbon fuels really remains as it is with modest growths aligned with demand/population, but tempered by alternate energy taking greater and greater marketshare.

So it could simultaneously be hype (very optimistic predictions) and yet still valued appropriatey by the market with future expectations priced in, just with some additional premium due to that demand/hype.

You'd want to use a KYC'd L2 that is still secured by the L1. The consortium would just validate transactions on the L2, and the security overhead is payed for by publishing to L1, so no need for validators actually validating and retaining blocks/data. Just a single. or multiple centralized sequencers. That way you also still have access to liquidity if you want additional KYC'd financial services (like for services using USDC), while also having the benefit of a closed carefully monitored system.

Value investing is being right when everyone else is wrong, and waiting until everyone realizes you were right all along.

As someone who is in airplane engineering, the biggest barrier today to building a new aircraft is regulations. But if we completely ignored regulations, and you were building a mostly aluminum aircraft with analog avionics and the goal was just to get it to fly (nevermind things like designing for fatigue), then no it wouldn't be that difficult conceptually on paper. However, manufacturing would still be the bottleneck, and that is still challenging today (tolerances, QA, technical expertise).

However, if you were designing and building a new aircraft to meet the latest Part 25 regulations for passenger transport, it's almost insurmountable. There's a reason why there are so few aircraft OEMs.

If we're talking about the future here, it makes much more sense that you'd be buying stocks directly using currency stored on your phones hardware wallet through a DEX like Uniswap. In fact, you might just tell your phone that you want to buy X amount of stock, and it would do it all for you onchain.

How is USDC a scam? Or how about DAI? Also, when I say stablecoins, I am also referring to CBDC's. Anyways, not everyone has a bank account (your viewpoint is very Western centric) and having to withdraw cash in a foreign country is just poor UX in the digital age.

And what about refugees fleeing war, like Ukrainians in 2022. There were many many cases where Ukrainians had zero access to their banks while in Poland. Having 12 words, or a set of 5 trusted guardians would be a much better way of securing your wealth than trusting some third party custodian in a city under siege.

The entire thread is about people not being able to go across borders with x amount of cash without declaring it. I could walk across a border with 100k in stablecoins and never declare it, and then have immediate access to those funds like I would cash. My point is to show the absurdity of these kinds of laws.

Is it really stupid to participate in this arms race? The data suggests that you are much safer in an SUV or truck when it comes to vehicle on vehicle accidents. In fact, the average deaths per 10 billion miles for cars and light vehicles is roughly 40, which is almost twice as many deaths as compared to trucks or SUVs. It's even worse for mini 4 door cars, at around 80 deaths per 10 billion miles. The only thing safer than a truck or SUV is a minivan. The correct choice for individuals is to participate in the arms race, unfortunately. You are correct that the only way around this is though regulations, but a lot of people aren't going to hold their breath. If you can't beat em, join em.
