I'm trying to cut meats out of my diet slowly. All seafood was easy as I was never that into it. Pig meat on the other hand... Bacon, Ham, Pork, etc. I knew that it had to go. So I started with that.

Currently I'm an opportunitarian. Chicken is the meat of choice if I can't handle the vegetarian option, otherwise beef. But pig and all seafood is gone from my diet. My hope is that plant-based or cultured meat improves to the point where I don't have these ethical dilemmas anymore. Until then I'll do my best.

I know it's not perfect but it's something. I think more people need to understand that eating and culture are hard to seperate and we need to accomodate that. Making meat a sometimes food is the first step.

When it hit around the $30 mark I was thinking that was going to be where it levelled off and I was actually excited for it to become a stable currency.

I was pretty wrong, both about it being a stable and a currency.

As another commenter mentioned, I'm also excited to have been here for it all and stille excited to see where it leads. Ultimately, whether you love it or hate it, Bitcoin has made its mark on history and has kind of become the giant shoulders that the next generation can stand on.

An interesting business model could arise.

I think this is why those of us interested in this are very much hanging out for results from our explorations of Mars. It's pretty much our only opportunity to see if life emerged twice in the same planetary system under similar conditions.

What are the chances?

On the positive side Mars had pretty much all the ingredients for life (chemically) and had a long enough period for at least something intersting to develop. On the negative side, the environment was still different to ours (gravity, climate, whether, etc).

We still aren't clear on what conditions need to met for like to get going. This is why both positive or negative results on Mars are exciting.

My favourite theory is that life actually takes ages to get started so much so that it started on Mars and finished on Earth (from Mars being impacted and debris making it to Earth). Kind of like a passing of the torch.

Mars: "Crap. I'm dying. Hey Earth, can you take this thing I've been working on?"

Earth: "Yep. No worries. I got this. Will try to send some back in a few billions years. Take care."

Pretty sure that having a work laptop gone for a day is not an ideal situation for most people.

Of course they wont. They still want the business and as you've pointed out, these accounts will be in a different customer engagement category. They are almost certainly real people and they a lot of value to marketers, even is you don't have all of their other personal details.

Well... It's easier to nudge people into doing something than asking or demanding. They then think it was their own decision.

Well, it's not exactly a plot hole as it was kinda Roddenberry's vision to show what a positive future for humans would look like. All the while exploring aspects of humanity through interactions with "alien races".

I think it's great to have future utopian stories to tell ourselves.

It's likely we'll end up somewhere in the middle but if we only listen to the bad stuff then that is all we can hope for because we can't imagaine any other state :)

Pretty much how I see it. I'm happy to pay if you make it easy for me to get what I want.

I reckon that all the streaming services should agree on a standard for distribution via their API's so that third parties can write better front ends that can connect to and search all of the services you are subscribed to.

So I would: - Subscribe to Netflix - Subscribe to Disney - Install my streaming frontend of choice - Connect both services either using an API key or PIN or SSO, etc

Now I can give them my money every month and have one interface to access all the services.

Sure, they may want to offer different features to differentiate their brand but that can be accounted for to some degree in the agreed standard.
