The fun has been optimized out of large corporate sites thanks to enshittification. However the spirit of the internet is still alive if you know where to look, in places like neocities, nekoweb, and other indie web hosts. People are still putting things on the internet for the fun of it and not to primiarily get ad revenue.
I tend to find these days that OS version obsolescence and charge port damage happen far sooner than the battery losing significant capacity

I'm glad this is coming back to bite them on the ass. As a user of reader, inbox, play music and other smaller things mentioned on the killed by Google site, I now avoid new Google products and services if it's not android. For example, when choosing smart heating I went with a competitor to nest because who wants their heating becoming obsolete in a few years?
