The whole point of some of their articles was to go into the more esoteric technical details rather than gloss over them like some other sites. So in that aspect you are correct: it wasn’t for “the average joe”. However, for some people it was what they wanted.
That attention to technical detail and knowledge is why people like Der8auer have an audience today and people respect his opinion.
The character limitation is also a problem in Korea. The thing that makes it worse is that your name on your alien registration card (think Green Card) is used to open your bank accounts. If they don't match you'll have a hell of a time doing any sort of online or mobile transaction since the systems are tied together. Only recently some banks have recognized this as a problem and extended the number of characters allowed.

+1 to this. I switched to a Kinesis ergo and typed qwerty for a while, then switched to Dvorak. When I got my Moonlander I kept it Dvorak and haven't had any issues with going back to qwerty on normal keyboards.
My assumption would be hunting perhaps? Since that involves gun ownership, and gun ownership/rights typically being associated with "conservatives".

I’ve been using it since my Amiga days and when I found out they had it for the PC I gladly paid for it and an extra license I don’t even really use just because I wanted to support them.
According to the article,

So, yes, it appears to be a backport.

I would expect no less from police, however, these days some "news" seems to be taking select information with no context, or out of context, and then using it to push a certain narrative. I think the point being that we should seek the truth (maybe the wrong word here..) no matter what the source.

I think one major issue with FB's stance is they say they are not a publisher but rather a platform.. of course, they do tend to use whatever is convenient to them sometimes.

My guess is the reason is that they need to show they have an increasing user base and "active users" to Wall St.
(I am not a scientist) I remember seeing someone talk about the risk of re-infection when this all started. They said that they only way to fully know if the virus has mutated would be to do a full sequence of the virus comparing the first infection with the second. It will be interesting (and possibly scary if has mutated) to see what is causing this second re-infection of patients that are supposedly recovered.

I can't be sure about Metro since I don't use them, but I've gone from postpaid to pre-paid on T-mobile and I no longer get the the warning/caller ID saying it. Even on their page, it does not mention anything about pre-paid.

Fidelity does it through either SMS or Symantec’s Validation and ID Protection (VIP) Access app. I called and asked if they support another app and they said they don't. Why they couldn't use another (read: non-Symantec) 2FA is beyond me.
I think T-Mobile only does this for postpaid users though. Prepaid users are excluded AFAIK.

AWS patched their hosts back in 2018 which caused a huge shitstorm in terms of performance lost across various workloads..so yes.
I'd say it's not so much inaction as inability to fix 10nm. By coupling architecture to process node for so long it really hosed them since they couldn't execute 10nm in a reasonable timeline.
Wow.. that's odd. I remember when they changed their price matching policy to no longer price match, but I thought TV's were still eligible, but I guess now even that's changed..

Not OP, but if they weren't doing it before, and just copied Uber, doesn't that show how weak their moat is? The same could happen with autonomous vehicles as well then.
You also need 64 cores at a minimum /s

What kind of company is this? I work in Korea and talking with other Koreans here there is a mandatory minimum by law. Asking for a day off is normal, but 5 days? That's extreme.
They have already increased the minimum wages and consumer prices have started to creep up. Outside of the Chaebol's (ie: Samsung, Hyundai, LG, etc) there are a f-ton of small businesses. Source: I live and work in Korea.
