How did you set up the FF sync server? I just did a quick search and I think the instructions I've found were mostly outdated. Do you have a link or a name for the port?

I also enjoyed hetzner for a while and if I'd want a ZFS install I'd probably go with them as it's definitely very nice how they do it. But as I've just previously commented I found a slightly better price for my minimum needs with vultr.com (5$/per month) and ZFS is not important to me on this box.

I use http://www.vultr.com with a FBSD10 deployment and i'm very happy.

This is a decent list of SSH's abilities from 2011 when the latest version of OpenSSH was 5.9. There have been quite a few additions and improvements since then.

I would love to see a similar article which is aims to be up to date with useful and good practices.

Anyone know of such a resource?

I recommend looking at BetterTouchTool http://www.bettertouchtool.net (free) and Alfred http://www.alfredapp.com (free without the Powerpack). I start all programs with Alfred and use BTT taps/movements on my trackpad to arrange/resize windows. I used to fire up applications with spotlight but alfred feels much quicker + I can create lots of custom web search queries which I use all the time.

Loving this thread and the one from around two and a half years ago. I'm probably missing out on a few things as I'm still running 10.6.8.

I use Bettertouchtool's window arrangement functions which you can set to (nearly) any custom shortcut you want. I use these on all applications not just Finder (in some it will not work) and I use these all the time.

my laptop:

- fn + left middle double tap -> position/maximize window to half left screen

- fn + right middle doubletap -> position/maximize window to half right screen

- fn + top middle doubletap -> maximize window

on my desktop workstations I use keyboard shortcuts.
