I appreciate your humility, it's hard sometimes to post things online when people are very blunt and unfiltered with their criticism of one's work.

Two big reasons spring to mind, client privacy and trust. This therapist was quite literally dumping confidential medical information to a third party corporation without telling the patient their information was being shared and disclosed with outside entities. The broader issue if patient trust in the ability or professionalism of the therapist are a whole other issue.

Google is really losing the plot lately, like worse than ever before. The changes to sideloading android apps is perhaps the biggest red flag they've ever thrown. But the new UI updates look largely silly and unhelpful, but maybe I'm being unfair.

Absolutely, it seems to create way more problems than it solves, all while undermining human accuracy and expertise. Feels like a net negative for the species as a whole.

At least from the outside, OpenAI's messaging about this seems obnoxiously deluded, maybe some of those employees left because it starts feels like a cult built on foundations of self importance? Or maybe they really do know some things we don't know, but it seems like a lot of people are eager to keep giving them that excuse.

But then again, maybe they have such a menagerie of individuals with their heads in the clouds that they've created something of an echo chamber about the 'pure vision' that only they can manifest.

I think it's better to make these decisions in measured ways, rather than broad sweeping generalities, a shopping mall should have multiple motivations to build a wheelchair ramp before 'penalties' are used. I'm not inherently against enforcing accessibility, but it sucks to go for punishments as a first course of action.

I don't agree with so much of what Canonical has done the past decade, I hope they can learn from this mistake and stop trying to reinvent the wheel when trust in their org is falling.

This is so terrible for their optics, Google used to work to cultivate their image so that an entire generation of young talent would've loved to work there, fast forward to now and that's all burned down and there's no respect left.

Now the best Google can expect from young pragmatic talent is that they'll have no real loyalty or trust in the brand, well respect is a two way street, this will almost certainly just accelerate enshittification across Google products and services.

And if that 56% faster chip didn't exist, or if it were replaced tomorrow by an even better chip that doesn't mean I need it to do my work. I don't see why I should chase benchmarks anymore if it doesn't give me any new real benefits, and the vision and execution behind macOS as an ecosystem doesn't seem to be getting any better

I think it's great that Apple continues to bring powerful hardware to market but their software quality has fallen behind, laggy performance issues and fewer and fewer devs building for macOS due to Apple's oppressive package signing policies. If I had to choose between slightly less powerful hardware (who cares?) and having replaceable and upgradable parts I'm gonna choose that every time. Upgrading between macbooks is more expensive than upgrading between Framework models.

Also what do you mean by 'macOS is open' in what regard is it open?

It's painfully obvious that none of this will really improve reddit for the users, seems like just another step towards obsolescence.

I personally use neovim and something I love doing is :tabedit to create a new tab and then I slap a :term in there and baby you've got a fullscreen terminal in a separate tab right inside vim and get this, you can yank text from this buffer and easily move this between your terminal tab and the files you have open.

I think regular vim will do all this as well but I think maybe the commands are different?
