I'm a full stack software engineer with a diverse range of experience that spans from early stage startups to fortune 50 companies. I believe in a culture of trust over rigid process and simple solutions that deliver wonder. I love collaborating, learning, teaching, and experimenting. I'm particularly drawn towards building the thing that builds the thing.

I've been interested in using Linear but I don't understand the workflow. Do branches have to use the linear issue slug, for example? Is that the keystone of the workflow? I've looked all over for examples of usage to no avail and the Linear website mentions nothing in the way of docs or onboarding.

It strikes me as odd that a company whose software facilitates distributed teams so well doesn't embrace a remote workforce. I'm a Notion user with a ton of ideas and would love to help improve the app but there's just no way I could move to SF to do that.

I’m a fullstack engineer with experience in both startups and large corporations. I am proficient in Javascript, NodeJS, and PHP and looking for remote contract positions. My sweet spot is helping founders with deep domain experience who are funded and need to build a v1.

Do you recommend a condescending attitude at all times or just this time?

Do employers often depend on "nanodegrees" (first I've heard the term) such as Udacity?

Exactly. Eventually eroding REST away to "RESTful".

ES5 is not better than ES6. So I prefer ES6 in that case.

REST shortcomings aren't necessarily found in a single api request. REST's shortcomings are the handful of endpoints required to get the information you actually want.

I'd feel more comfortable with my personal data if that were the case.

Curing?

FAANG is a tiny fraction of the job market.

Secret variables are NOT output to Gitlab CI job logs... but if someone echos them, they WILL appear in the log. This may be obvious to some, but, I like to point it out nonetheless.

Examples include: use of globals, inefficient queries, mixed templating, lack of namespacing, doesn't follow PSR standards.

You may be disappointed. Drug dealers and professional girlfriends are likely still uninterested in paper trails and paying taxes on income.

Venmo solved the pain points of easily transferring money between acquaintances regardless of the financial institutions that money may reside in. Having social interaction in their app is a side affect or the purpose, not the purpose itself.

Drawing a comparison between a comment sent to a friend (a communication between two parties that ostensibly know each other) and prank calling the cops is a bit far fetched.

Fraud charges were brought to the founder and the president recently. If I recall correctly a settlement was reached although I don't recall the specifics.

The data may ultimately belong to Facebook but Whatsapp is not the same as Facebook.

Why not just create a new branch instead of copying your project over to a new dir?

Either this website registers a new history with every scroll down the page or it hijacks the back button so that pressing back scrolls you back up the page until you've reached the top. I've never seen this functionality before.

Very simple equation my friend: hours spent making the bot * hourly rate.
