The kanji on your laptop is not the same as 我. Idk if intentional or not

hyperfuturism
i'm insanely optimistic about the future.
beat the game with 31 over par overall. im on an iphone 16 pro.
touchscreen users have huge edge over desktop for sure.
There's Tiny Glade that's built with Bevy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAUSBxxgIbQ).
It's not a AAA game, but a pretty polished indie game that looks amazing.
You don't have DMs open on Twitter, I think. I have some questions!

In the article he does afterall second the notion that AI will eventually replace a lot of human labour related to mathematics.
You clearly don't have the live chatting feature in a forum or on reddit. I'm assuming it's a tongue in cheek comment, and not to be taken literal, but there are many features that Discord have that other products do not.
Yes, there are many such cases.
Many billionaires out there that people do not know are billionaires. Not all wealth accumulated has been broadcasted out in the public for everyone to know, only the broadcasted has been broadcasted.
Well, can't be the most secretive given how everyone knows that they are "secretive". I'd ascribe them more to being private.
The secretive are the ones that we don't even know exist (i.e. a google search would give very little), let alone that they are billionaires.
Seconded on the Telegram bot API.
I've used both Discord's bot API as well, and can say it was way more convoluted to get up and going. Telegram's API was a joy to build in. This was in Node.js.
I think he's relieved that he won't get lifetime prison, and even years in prison.
Living at the top, to having no freedom must be very, very hard to stomach. I would take the deal too if I was CZ.
Giving up some "power-grab addiction" for 100% freedom (and being a billionaire still), seems very good for him.
How is Altman a greedy asshole?
He's been at OpenAI since founding date, he's taken zero economic upside in this venture, and he's now being kicked out - what exactly makes him an asshole?
Ah my bad, sometimes hard for me to see that.
Of course you can be 30 and give advice. Is there a rule where you have to be a certain age to give advice?
Even if you're 10 years old, you are allowed to write on the Internet and no need to police yourself with arbitrarily "waiting".
Also an argument extrapolated on your own experience of 37 that nothing is figured out is not very good argument against when you can or cannot say something.
I'd believe that most people would earn more and still have their sanity in the long-run remaining an employee. It's incredibly hard to create a startup with an exit for the founder.
While the EV for creating startups is incredibly high, but the median EV of the startup founder is very low.
Interesting to hear about your perspective.
I’ve always been on the other side of the coin, programming has always been a means to and end, not an end itself.
It's been about a year since Next.js 13 - so a bit more than 4 - 5 months.
I didn't know that Apple had their own TLD.
Apparently they got it in year 2015.
Do Hacker News for X ever work?
It's too hard to bootstrap a community, hence most fail.
This could probably change my experience on HN.
In general too much noise in the comments, so a hand-picked filter like this is very useful.
I would argue that that's what arcbyte is arguing.
He's saying to just get started, and you will figure it out. So when you're arguing that "trends", "audience", etc. is what lead to his success, yes, that's what it means to:
1. Get started (just start, and improve) 2. Become better and learn (whether that's finding trends, building audience whatever)
Many paths to success, so the lesson isn't specific in many cases imo. Hence, why arcbyte's comment is really good imo.
Beautifully put. Only something I learned recently, to stop psych:ing yourself out and just Get Started.
Yeah. I would also agree that there are multiple explanations floating out there, and it's not entierly clear what exactly is happening in the economy that have lead it to where it is today.
Could be a combination of all of them, could be that a few root causes. Not entierly clear imo.
I don't get it. Has the wages not been stagnating, and has house prices not been creeping up, has US national debt not been going exponential, has energy consumption not been relatively more flat?
For example, the comment mentions that the the "Median Sale prices for new houses sold" is in dollars. Yes, he is correct. But looking up an inflation adjusted median price gives the same result, that house are more expensive than before. So yes, he is right that the graph can be technically misleading, but the point of "WTF Happened in 1971" still stands.
I think there are many midcurve takes, where one would argue how 1971 is wrong, but isn't it the case, in reality - that housing, college, wage, etc. have all been doing worse for a few decades now.
The other comment is right, that Sam Altman is not the CEO. The CEO is Alex Blania.
And he did say that they were dampening the volatility of the price for WLD (together with the help of market makers, etc. I would guess?).
I think TUI tends to be overrated. They're not very practical, and mostly end up as a novelty application.
Regardless, I respect the effort in building this - great work.
1. Inflation does not make it more useful for exchange.
You want something that holds 1-to-1 exchange through time for it to be useful for exchange. E.g. stock market appreciate versus goods, and dollar depreciates. You want something that's actually stable.
2. Just because there's more liquidity available, does not the dollar have better monetary properties than Bitcoin. I think the author is talking about monetary in the terms of monetary policy of the dollar versus Bitcoin.
3. I don't see how Bitcoin's appreciation versus other cryptocurrencies prove any point.
I tried the application. Here's some of my thoughts:
1. You can't explore before registering.
2. The only tags are software development related.
3. The exploration/filtering by age or country is none of what I'd want to filter by. I'd only want to filter by "interest" (things beside programming, which isn't there).
With that said, good website otherwise - didn't hit any other problems and fairly straight-forward.
