Yep. Everything is exactly two models away. It's the new fusion. Yet after $X billion expenditure I still have to argue with the finest turd squeezed out of the industry over simple things that a trained monkey could work out.

I know a guy who does this. He finds a problem, then tells ChatGPT about it. Then ChatGPT elaborates it into dross. He says look at the magical output, without reading it or bothering to understand it. Then posts it to the vendor. The vendor gets mislead and the original issue is never fixed. Then I have to start the process again from scratch after 2 weeks are wasted on it.
The root cause is that LLMs are a damage multiplier for fuckwits. It is literally an attractive hammer for the worst of humanity: laziness and incompetence.
I imagine that could be weaponised quite easily.

Indeed that is the case there but you have to evaluate every journey based on a number of factors.
Recently I had to get a train 250km in Italy and it would have been quicker, cheaper and less stressful to fly to London and back due to the problems.
This is usually a misunderstanding of risk. I think the last stats I read were that per 18,000,000 miles of air travel for 200 people, you'd expect 1 extra person to end up with cancer. Over a baseline risk of 25% of people getting cancer, that's negligible.

I write a lot of email on planes and do a lot of email management.
All that works on the default Apple stuff as shipped other than account management. Using IMAP and iCal etc.
Just a note with those holders. They shouldn't be used in anything that will be shipped as the battery can get knocked out. The original shipped batteries were soldered in so they could be shipped safely. In fact a lot of the time the cells were taped or cable tied as well as soldered in on some bits of hardware!
The newer CR2032's have much lower mass and can withstand many more G's before it's an issue so they are usually in holders.
I don't know why there is a replacement design. You can still buy them new from Mouser. They last 20 odd years usually.
