The author un-synced his email from the phone? Big deal. It is not that smartphones do not let you think (which is also true), but that they are just yet another consumer good made to keep you disconnected from reality.

As usual, it just depends how you use them. Think of it as a laptop, do you program on it or just surf facebook?

Smartphones could be the ultimate hacker device, if used properly.

I find it insulting because the word NiNi is just a generalization on young people (as me) that politicians and media is throwing around to make us feel bad, and to portray a group of people that does not represent the majority.

The average age on Spain is 40.5. It's so easy to just say, fuck it, young people is lazy, so let's let the government pass this or these other bigoted rules, or even let a bigoted party rule, because it's the only way they will learn.

I was not saying you are not right (heck, we are in 28.4% of unemployment), I was pointing out that generalizations are incorrect and biased.

PS: I may be angry, because the government decided to increase taxes on self-employed people (with unreasonable numbers), making it harder for me to enjoy working and living here.

NiNi is a pejorative word used to refer to people that "Ni estudia Ni trabaja" (do not study, do not work).

I hope this word just stops being used. As a young person from Spain that have studied and is working (and have been since I was 18), that term used in spanish people is terribly insulting.

For me it's similar as Naples in Italy. Most people that have spent time would say it's a chaos and terrible, but for me it is just too real and vivid to pick on them. I like them as it is.

I don't really know how to express myself better than Larra himself[2] "Vuelva usted mañana". I have tried to find a translation but they do not really work together..

The younger generation is not fat, nor spoiled, maybe angry. You just see the most blatant cases, and decide that's the general rule.

If the average bar you were in was like a 'tourist attraction' it was that you just fell in all the tourist traps available. There are plenty of nice places to spend the day (and the night) in Spain.

About the Salazar/Franco line, I do not understand exactly if you are implying the older generation lived through a dictatorship, and now is the best they ever had (since there's no dictator), or you mean things were better during these times.

Why on earth?

How is the top menu[1] ok? Grey background with clear blue icons? I would understand with skype because it's not their logo, but even their own blue icons look terrible with that background.

Also, the controls on the carousel[2] are off.

This is not just fanboy hate, but for a company the size of Microsoft, their homepage should matter. These two examples show that they just don't care.

Unrelated to this, I find the metro style interesting for touch devices, but adopting it as the look of the whole company dumbs down their entire product. Also, the font looks to me like a futurist Comic Sans.

What got me to play the game again was doing it on Hardcore mode. In this mode, difficulty is set to hard and when you die your world save gets destroyed and you cannot continue playing.

For me, this works well, as I just play when I really feel like it and no more time that my brain can handle[1], and when there are dangerous situations, you can really feel the stress for survival and preservation of all the "things" built.

It's not embarassing that in 40 years "we" haven't gotten anywhere else. To me it's embarassing that in 40 years we do not have yet sustainable way of keeping life on our own planet. Energy, on Earth and beyond, it's what could set a new standard for human race.

The title is misleading: I understand by princess it means a girl that comes from a wealthy (and corrupt) family, but using it on the title to drive confusion was unnecessary.

It's a little tricky, though

If I recall correctly, I did a search while a video was being played. Then, when I pressed enter on the query, a list of results appeared on top | bottom of the video.

If I selected one of the videos on the search results, they were auto-added on a right playlist. If you wanted to move to the next video, you could select it on the right playlist.

I found it really intelligent and useful, but at the start it felt a little weird.

My assumption was that it was too difficult for everyone, and Youtube decided to keep playlists as they were.

Near my city there's an airsoft field where weekend zombie events are organized.

Basically, you assemble a group, pay the entrance, and a group of actors disguised as zombies attack you in the forest.

Being paid actors, they play it real, safe, and "correctly" die when they should.

It's funny to think that two years ago, while in a travel to Sweden, Youtube had a similar feature (not for music, but you could search without stopping the current playing video). When I got back home the feature was gone, so I assume they were testing the feature in different countries?

Well, there's a solution.

Do not write every part of a project in only one language. Following the UNIX "Small is beautiful", most projects can and are cut to small things that work together.

I often find myself writing a library in Python and publishing it's API in web.py, building services that rely on this API in Node.js, and making the final website in PHP.

I understand Google Glass involves the hardware, and all the technologies that make it available.

But before getting all hyped, in this demo, this just looks like a camera mounted on a frame, and a stream on a g+ hangout.

Show me the software, an SDK, and the real HUD.
