I don't fully get this. It's the nth article about non technical topics I come across where the first comments start with ripping the content and the author apart. Always in such a subtle but mental and aggressive way. The other article which comes to mind was the post about the 10 simple things which make you happier from yesterday.

It seems to reflect how narrow minded this community outside of technical problems and business models actually is.

I'm in Incline Village at Lake Tahoe and the development scene must be deep underground or doesn't exist. I'm sure it it won't be a problem to get some rooms for meetings and collaboration happening. All non tourist relevant resources seem to be easy available. In Reno it looks probably better but the commuting gets to you, especially when the winter kicks in again.

Never let a good crisis go to waste for your own exposures sake.

I think the down time of social media sites and a few hours without streaming videos is totally overrated. We are not talking about the power outage for a hospital but being unable to share your photos and your daily opinion.

It's a quite healthy self check if those endorphin producers are offline on a random occasion.
