wow - the money quote "I scraped Hacker Slide to get just over two months of data in the form of hourly snapshots of stories, their age, their score and their position" -- how did he do this? I can barely get to the homepage say 14 times out of 20, without hitting the error page from their CDN/DDOS Protection pages (cloudfare?) And that's not to scrape content, just to read the headlines from time to time.
Wait, shouldn't this be written in Rust, but with a competing implementation in Go, but it translates it to Javascript in the meantime, because, well, everything is Javascript these days. Then someone will complain that in the book 'XML: The Good Parts', that XML, is just misunderstood, and really, it is beautiful underneath, if you just ignore the cataract-forming hideousness of it all.

I think ancient people did travel, after all, we have learnt they had number systems, watched the constellations, had crude but reasonable ancient maps, and genetics are discovering things all the time about the hereditary lines.
I actually hope Twitter doesn't go away, it can serve as a fly-paper for the short-attention-span conversionist. The sort of people who talk at you, rather than with you. If they are all there, we can sneak off, to the other party, enjoy conversation, with give and take, learn, laugh, cry, take a real interest. It may even run to more than 140 chars. It will be great!
I can see we are going to get one of these DB / OS Adapters each day now. Looking forward to BerkDBOSQuery - because, well, the Berkeley DB needs some love too.
