Yeah, but games get bigger and more frequent discounts on pc, besides the base game price for a lot of games sometimes decreased after some years.

I have a PC and PS5, and bought game for PS5 just because they were on disk, despite that they would've ran and look much better on my pc.

Sony is releasing like 2 single-player games a year, I might get a PS6, but I'll be in not rush with so little offering, anything else I'll get on PC.

I use "Noted" as inside joke with a friend, we use messenger and the default emoji of the theme we use is a pencil, sometimes he sends me it by accident and one day I started replying "noted" when this happens, now he also does this.

IMHO, if you want to play Half-Life today, you can also just play the original, I've played it recently and still an amazing game, and several aspects I like it more than Half-life 2. Some might not like the graphics for being dated, but after a while you get used to it.

I actually liked some of the addictions to notepad, like tabs, reopen files, keeping unsaved files, and the unsaved changes indicator in the tab.

But I think formatting, grammar and ai are going too far for notepad, if I want to do something that need those I would use Word.

I don't know if it's the same Ken Johnson, but I found a video about AppSec with a Ken Johnson that had his twitter profile in the description https://x.com/cktricky. Then I found this Ken Johnson LinkedIn page, and there's no mention of working at Microsoft, so it's probably not the same guy, and this other Ken Johnson looks much younger than I was expecting.

1. World of Warcraft in 2004 is very different from World of Warcraft in 2024. Do future versions "destroy" previous ones? How do you deal with this?

I think it's more about the right of the consumer to be able to play what they paid for than keep the original version intact.

mind flayer, illithid

If I understand correctly, they only own copyrights for the lore, not the names and appearance. Also product identity so they can't be used by other tabletops, but other media can use them. For example, the game Demon's Souls have Mind Flayers, they are called Mind Flayers and look the part. I doubt From Soft and/or Sony are paying royalties for such minor enemy.

I think this case is different from the Beholder which seemingly they own complete rights since they made Tibia change their Beholder to something distinct.

I can see the use to describe AI spam, but I am starting to seeing people using it to describe anything they don't like, basically a replacement for "mid" with was highly used the last couple of years. I noticed that when some people learn a new "trendy" word, they want to use it in every possible opportunity until it loses meaning.

I was thinking, maybe games were more immersive with lower fidelity because it left something for our imagination to do. And that made us more engaged.

OP's library feels a lot more performant, in my old work computer with 3 click you can notice some lag with Party.js. With canvas-confetti, it only starts to lag when I click non-stop for a few seconds, probably invoking more than 30 instances of confetti and a lot of particles.

And also because it's a generation old. A card like 1080 was high-end during its time, and still works well, but it isn't high-end anymore.

High-end gpus right now are the 4090 and 4080.

The search doesn't seem to work very well.

For example, I searched for "Hard techno", term which was included in the title of a song I listened in the platform.

It returned several unrelated songs, the first result is a country song that doesn't contain the word "hard" or "techno" anywhere in the lyric or the prompt, and the song I listened before was the last on the list.
