Dr. Wildberger is notorious for having non-standard ideas about mathematics, including not believing in irrational numbers, etc. The ire that Pythagoreans had towards irrational numbers is still alive and well in Australia!

I recommend checking out his Youtube Channels. He is an excellent lecturer, who is able to communicate complex ideas in a very clear way. The cherry on the top is that it is so fun to listen to his nonstandard ideas, which he can and does advicate for in a very powerful way.

Even if you believe in irrational numbers (as I do!) it is good to examine and re-examine the things you are cock-sure about.

Stupidity. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are brain dead....

Nobody can answer these questions for you friend ;-( We are all tragically, inevitably free.

Sine you have to answer them, you need to find out who you are. Good news is that you create who you are every moment, with the decisions you make, the actions you do, the promises you keep--and the promises you break.

In other words, you can find out by just kind of feeling your way.

I remember reading this something like 40 years ago. At the time, I thought for sure it must be one of the surviving artifacts of the golden age of science fiction--what with its ruined earth (which must have been because of atomic war) nd vivid depictions of airplanes (complete with stewardesses) and videoconferencing.

Its just now I noticed that it was written in 1909. Ye gads. It could have been written yesterday, or in the plague year of 2020. I've read some pretty prescient science fiction, but this guy must have had a time machine.
