I don't think the problem is that the scientists are not heard, but that the reiki-practicioners-heavy-drug-users-no-responsabilty-whatsoever-metaphysical crowd are much louder, effectibily diminishing the seriousness of the scientists' warnings

The above statement holds, whoever it never stopped the support (material, logistical, etc) of murdereos regimes all over the world. Look, I'm not an idealist, I understand that the US is a power hegemon and as such it will always impose its will on smaller countries, same as the UK or France did in the past. What irritates me is that its citizens are convinced that they are "the good guys", when evidence against that is so overwhelming. At least the UK was clear in its intentions "we are building/defending the British Empire"
Geez, we are lucky the Koch brothers build their empire before the social media was a thing, otherwise they will be also considered "influencers and trend setters"
This is mostly a millenials thing. I don't know why young people are fixated with the Zuckerbers and Bezos of the world. Did I miss something the past 15 years?. I'm in my 40s
I also work in the "real world", that doesn't mean I will build an inefficient untangled mess just because I am told the users of this software will have the computing power of NASA. Professional ethic.
Well, some countries are lucky enough to own land apt for large-scale agriculture and agroindustry: Argentina, Canada, Russia, others are not: Jordania, Yemen, Libia... So, having large populations in these less fortunate countries is not sustainable at all, and this regardless of how selfish are those 20xconsumption countries
I would rather blame overpopulation than climate change for the upcoming wars and refugee waves
