Although I agree that the issue of money supply is not described well here, it's not a very long article, nor is it really aiming to explain all that. I think it's fun to see the average lifespan of bills. Who'd'a thunk that most small ones are in use for less than 5 years??

I think it's more of an ideology. Obviously, the NYT could (and probably will) close down particular workarounds, such as this one, but the bigger picture is that computer-savvy people will always be able to get around the paywall as long as it's targeted at blocking mainstream users.

I've listened to podcasts on my iPod and iTunes for years, through successive generations of hardware and software on both ends, and cannot think of how it could be construed as an Apple weakness. It's a pretty flawless system.

Not a single reference to "invader" or "Zim" is found on the linked document :( What a tease, indeed.

I'm surprised that the author replaced iTunes with Pandora when Grooveshark is so much more versatile. Plus, it can be made into a damn good Fluid app. Additionally, some of his "replacements" are just extensions to normal processes; Hyperspaces runs within spaces, and Witch runs within Expose. On that note, though, there's a QuickTime add-on called Perian that makes the program much more versatile, and can in many cases re-replace VLC.
