Can you look into integrating with private book repositories like Calibre? Also, many books on Archive.org are scanned PDFs (usually as images). This would need OCR probably. Would this work with them ? I feel that this would be most useful with old books where the text is not easily searchable, citations are not convenient, or definitions need lookups.

Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple News, and iCloud+ will outpace the Appstore as they gain traction. They just have to ensure that they maintain quality.
Signage and discovery are a joke. The App Store is littered with garbage, and even when you search for an app by name, you often get unrelated apps for pages and pages before the real app.
That's what you get by making it is easy for anyone to develop and release apps. It is a very low barrier of entry. Almost anyone sitting at home can make an app and release it. If they release garbage to game the system and Apple blocks it, then there cries of draconian policies.
Imagine the garbage that you will have to wade through when sideloading is forced upon them.

English is now pervasive enough that transliterated words are common in all languages and are being used natively. People use English words and idioms without even realizing they are speaking English. You will find even in remotest corners someone who will understand and converse in rudimentary English (especially the youngsters).

Have the EZPass readers in every signboard or lamppost along the highways. They can read and record distance travelled along a particular highway so that revenue can be attributed to appropriate agency.

Actually engineers are not interchangeable. whilst marketing and sales are. both hardware and software engineers have proprietary knowledge of products, marketing can be picked up by anyone with couple of weeks of orientation.

There is no reason to import STRAY dogs from other countries while there are millions of dogs in local shelters unadopted/rescues and are being euthanized daily.

This is soon going to devolve into people holding users for ransom after they get sufficient traction of their software due to it being open source. Good that you are using the software. Now any fixes or new features are going to cost you since there is now an elite group of users who get pay for features while the ones who adopted early are left in lurch.

This there is the problem. Why should the general public be afraid of police when on a daily basis their dogs do interact with other professionals and workers?. This is because of fear inculcated by their behavior and there is no recourse later.
This does not make sense. There are other professions who come into contact with strange dogs on a daily basis (postal workers, Ups, delivery men, landscapers, utilities inspectors). How many get bitten or face aggression? They would face this issue on a much larger scale but it not so.

To your anecdote, I am mac os user for about 8 years now. I blindly update whenever there is an update notification without reservation. Not a single issue encountered in all these years. I am sure there are legions of users like me.
