ORM libraries have Value conversion functionality for such trivial examples https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/ef/core/modeling/value-con...
You just never seen a good ORM such as Entity Framework Core
My software engineer job is to destroy my own position by solving all the problems and automating the job away. I have done it multiple times over my career.
Red hydrogen: produce hydrogen from a thermochemical reaction between water, iodine, and sulfur at a high temperature, around 900°C, using the thermal energy from a nuclear reactor.
Sulfur batteries are known to be deadly toxic when lighted on fire
All of these points apply to modern dotnet as well
I visualize the starting state of exposed functionality, the desired end state and the transition. Then implement the transition without forgetting to take note of everything this transition affects.
The closest thing to this right now is solidjs. Super close to plain javascript but with tree shake build
Entity Framework Core has got you covered! Writing some LINQ and returning data in Aspnet Core API takes no time at all.
The golden times were 8-10 years ago, where you could change the order of keywords in google search and get more precise matches. Could find pretty much any obscure thing on the internet.
Then could find that article that you remember read 6 months ago by adjusting the keywords until it is on the first page.
Now it does not matter at all what you enter in the search box. No matter the inputs you get one set of results and will never find something specific.
VSCode has plugin for polyglot notebooks https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/languages/polyglot
I moved to k6 - a tool meant for load tests but flexible and great for any kind of API tests. Great for any kind of scenarios as the tests are in javascript
Every Tesla employee is a share holder. What if this model is better?
That sounds really subjective
I think they would rather leave some USB port available than let you wear down their chains
Elon was talking about Tesla car with FSD. Once Tesla does their part the car would become a valuable robotaxi capable of earning itself back in 1-2 years every year for a decade.
How about blocking outgoing mail to these domains? Let's assume there is no important e-mail business going on with Mali
Here are the latest numbers on inequality. Bottom 50% of people paid just 2.3 percent of federal income taxes. Is this something to be replaced?
I don't see how you can tear everything down and get to a better place. Tearing everything down will leave you with nothing. Endless examples of "people's republics" where the power gets concentrated and people are left with none. The total wealth has expanded with capitalism. Large numbers of people lifted out of poverty.
Yes, housing is a problem. But then fix the regulation that inhibits development of housing and makes it more expensive. And then go work in construction as houses don't build themselves. Wealth is to be created not to be redistributed until there is nothing left.
Inheritance is a concept of OOP not programming itself. And yes I much prefer composition.
Yeah. My functions work with data that is received in parameters. Classes are for dependency injection composition and hold state data only when absolutely necessary.
Same here. I started feeling much better only after 9-10 months off work (stay at home parent). Then returned to the same grind and one year later quit with a plan for a longer break. But after 7 months found a great matching job for me and wanted to go to work again.
In all fairness it's not stupid. Interviewers sometimes ask to show code you have written and did not pay to write it. Here the interview asks to show code you have written and been paid to write.
I don't really think you can aka burnout with get bored). What I experienced was losing self control, being amazed how uncooperative one's brain can be, inability to get anything done even when trying to the max to get something done. Then being amazed by one's uselessness. It is like living in debilitating pain without the actual pain.
What I think it actually was - strong negative emotions. About the tools, about the organization, about the tasks. And these emotions only got stronger over time and could not be rationalized away.
And looking back, quitting and looking for things I still like was the only solution. Need a certain percentage of work to be exceptional match with what I like to do.
I took half a year break, then stopped the break when opportunity came to start working with the only few technologies that I still like in a company with exaggerated work life balance focus. So far so good.
People vote each time they choose buy a good or a service. Isn't it democracy if you have the freedom to choose to whom you give your hard earned money (what is left after taxes)?
Well, if you absolutely must continue your burnout, then don't take vacation. You will spend it dreading the return and it will make you miserable.
Try and rationalize away all the concerns about the meaningfulness of what you do. Make sure you are not operating on power saver during the day and give it all you got!
Also give it all you got in after work hours and make sure you get some positive emotions out of it regularly.
Wake up well rested in mornings with proper sleep habits.
Adjust your position in a way that situations that cause strong negative emotions are not your concern.
It says on the chart km/h not miles/h!
