It's a real danger that what is not immediately easy for non-experts to understand gets flagged with the suspicion of being "AI garbage".

If you want to understand the challenges of satellites in the Southern Ocean, there's plenty of info about it online.

(I am also non an expert, and I also didn't understand it at first. That's to be expected. The real world is complex and hard to understand.)

I did something similar, but I mapped it (on hold) to cmd + control + option + shift so it effectively becomes a new modifier key that I use to define shortcuts that will never clash with any existing shortcuts. I use it to launch / switch to specific apps, move windows, etc.

If the Notion timeline view had more granularity (hours and not just days), it would become a great tool to plan novel scenes! (I’m using Aeon Timeline for now, but it’s clunky and doesn’t get any updates. I’d switch to Notion in a heartbeat!)

Self determination is a human right. It is not unlawful, and a referendum about it isn’t either. If a certain law doesn’t allow for it, the law is wrong.

Of course, Spain is also calling thoroughly pacific demonstrations “tumultuous” so that they can accuse politicians of sedition, so Spain clearly doesn’t care about truth and law.

Why is the 1password login the same as the encryption password for all my other passwords? There is absolutely no reason why I should ever send them my encryption password. If they would make these two passwords separate and handle all encryption/decryption locally, I think that would solve the issue for me.

Using gitlab for go development, "go get" doesn't work. Googled around, couldn't find a solution. With github, on the other hand, it just works.

I love gitlab (even made a git tool to easily create repositories from the commandline, gitgitlab) but these small things make a real difference. I'll end up paying for a github organization account just to get this annoyance out of the way.

I'm having problems every week with Ulysses' iCloud sync: syncs that won't happen, lost data... I back up my data by hand to text files just to be able to recover. It's insane how much it fails and how little visibility over what's going on it offers.

Interesting!

Sometimes it gets it almost right: I tried with this piece of text in Catalan (Balear variant) and it classifies it as Portuguese (with Catalan as 2nd option): "I s'horabaixa la deixam passar i me mires tan a prop que me fa mal, que surt es sol i encara plou, que t'estim massa i massa poc, que no sé com ho hem d'arreglar, que som amics, que som amants."

It's strange, because it's pretty different from Portuguese...

The Catalan poem "tirallonga de monosíl·labs" gets classified as French. (http://www.rodamots.com/calaix.asp?text=tirallonga)

There's something wrong on the install instructions: completion can't be installed

There are many international IT companies in Europe where English is the lingua franca (speaking from my experience in Catalonia and the Netherlands). Learning the language of the country is a welcome courtesy, but it is often not a requirement.

indeed!

Valencian (Valencià) is not a version of Spanish, but a different language. It's the same language that is spoken in Catalonia (and which there is called Catalan), and in the Balearic Islands (where it's called Balear).

It's amazing the amount of languages that are everywhere...
