No, I'm sorry, there actually are true believers. I think some people just have trouble countenancing the idea that maybe some of the people we've given all the wealth and power to really are just dolts. This tends to have an unraveling effect on people's personal beliefs.

I mean, we didn't really allow them to. Presidents who lost the popular vote appointed them, after other appointees were politically blocked under false pretenses in the Senate ("can't do it in an election year, unless you're a very specific president"). In aggregate, Americans poll much further left than this activist, rightwing court, but that doesn't matter when the electoral minority keeps on winning.

Don't worry, though. The Court has made their decision, now let them enforce it.

Can't developers just... not do that? You can write bad code in any language. What is our responsibility as experts to avoid doing things like this, then?

Code is linked to textual representations because code... is text? The entire point is that there are algorithms to go from "print()" to something that actually makes the computer work. How else could it even possibly work?

I think we don't have any sort of flexible AST sort of thing because they're mostly not necessary. The hard problems of programming don't usually have much to do with syntax.

And that's why they're bad using gTLDs anyone would actually ever want to use. "Hey, fellow youths, check out our snazzy new website: statefarm.travelersinsurance! So easy to type on your IBM keyboard, amirite?"

The solution is simple: vet the talks, vet the presenter, and don't focus on technology that is popular for grifting. Sorry, but I've been to enough JS/TS meetups to know what's happening. But that world is full of marketing and people who want funding. Compare this to a BSD meetup or a 2600 meetup. Nobody's trying to sell you stuff there.
