Healthcare is extremely weak on science. The profession existed before the scientific method so there is a tendency to value authority over science.

Even today Physicians still think the body is Art, or a combination of Art and Science.

And the only reason we don't have a science based alternative to the Physician cartel is that they spent literally $400,000,000 on lobbying/bribery in the last 30 years.

Fair point. I find Front End theraputic so it doesn't seem daunting to me.

It's definitely a long term strategy, but people love eating Candy even if it gives you a stomach ache.

Mozilla isn't the same company as when I was a teen.

I've attempted to use their platform on numerous devices over the last 3 years and ran into issues. I've moved on.

No amount of HN praise can override my real world experience.

As long as you don't become an addict.

I think most people start with 4 drinks per week. 12 years later is a different story.

I wish weed was socially acceptable like coffee. It makes me better, at least until tolerance hits. More focused and higher energy.

No one gives me crap about shaky caffeine hands.

Oh well I'm off everything now, the neutral state is okay, but I wonder if I lost potential.

Does anyone blame them?

There are 3 types of workers.

Temp style who are planning on making money and leaving Amazon as soon as they get a better paying job. These people get limited to negative benefits from the union.

Ambitious workers who want to climb up Amazon, this takes 2 paths. You can go up the union ranks, but this is nearly entirely seniority dependent. Going from union position to non union(management) means you cut all ties with your former life and union friends, sorry but it's the truth.

Finally you have the lifers, they benefit from the union because this is their career. Doing unskilled labor for slightly above market rates. They want union protection to make their job easier at the expense of everything else. Maybe the job is hard and these lifers deserve it. But this is still a minority population.
