As far as I understand it, the problem isn’t that teachers are shit. Giving more money would bring in better teachers, but I don’t know that they’d be able to overcome the other obstacles

Ah sorry, my comment didn’t cover the 7 people that want to do software development on their iPhone.
Nothing, it’s never anything real and just some fantasy of what they could have if someone else put in an incredible amount of work to achieve something nebulous they got the impression of from a sci-fi book.
They want a cyber deck, except good and useful and apple hardware.
I often find myself wondering why these people aren’t happily using some Android rom and are instead using an iPhone.
idk
Yeah, was obvious from the first comment
It might actually help output answer with less nonsense.
As an example in some workflow I ask chatgpt to figure out if the user is referring to a specific location and output a country in json like { country }
It has some error rate at this task. Asking it for a rationale improves this error rate to almost none. { rationale, country }. However reordering the keys like { country, rationale } does not. You get the wrong country and a rationale that justifies the correct one that was not given.
Bigscreen Beyond 2 is 107g
I use YouTube daily in safari and edge, this is complete hyperbole.
AI companies profiting
Are they?
I’ve had a prescription twice and it was 50,000IU of D2 once weekly. Usually the OTC one people buy is D3.
We’re increasingly switching to an “Uber for therapy” model with services like Better Help and a plethora of others.
I’ve seen about 10 therapists over the years, one was good, but she wasn’t from an app. And I’m one of the few who was motivated enough and financially able to pursue it.
I once had a therapist who was clearly drunk. Did not do a second appointment with that one.
This doesn’t mean ChatGPT is the answer. But the answer is very clearly not what we have or where we’re trending now.
NC has a house bill that has not passed committee to abolish DST, and a senate bill to only have DST.
Why is it one or the other? They have enough money to do both.
They’re about the same
All the other zippers will still exist. Clothes without zippers will still exist. Roughly nobody does this anyway.
So you just delay getting your old ass rejected until they interact with you instead of some uuid?
One time the city wanted my neighbor to pay for a new trash can, but I had a video of the trash truck swallowing it lol.
It’s mostly just convenience though. Neighbor kid rings my doorbell and it tells me who is there. Tells me when I have a package. Helped me recover my cat that escaped. One time a huge buck came on my porch to eat some flowers that was pretty cool, bro had no business being that far from the woods lol. My kids can talk to their friends through it if they ring the bell when we’re not home.
Apple at least claims to not have keys for their E2EE, such as when you turn on Advanced Protection (or whatever it’s called) it has this whole spiel about how screwed you are if you lose your recovery ability
In 2023, the FTC ordered the company to pay $5.8 million over claims that employees and contractors had unrestricted access to customers’ videos for years.
It’s right in the article
HomeKit secure video is cloud stored, but end to end encrypted
I commented on a similar post earlier, but my entire neighborhood, hundreds of houses, came with them preinstalled. Can’t even leave my house without being surveilled.
Some people have the setting on where it starts announcing stuff any time it sees a person, which it does all the way to the sidewalk. So you go on a walk and get yelled at through a super shitty speaker several times.
And it’s about as dystopian as you can imagine with people posting recordings constantly on the neighborhood Facebook group and arguing.
I swapped to HomeKit secure video because of no additional subscription, included in the iCloud one I’m paying anyway. Allegedly end to end encrypted too.
Yes, they were new build. They used it as part of the marketing too, calling them “smart homes”. There’s various other ring bits like motion detector and window/door sensors, alarm, etc. and some non-Amazon stuff like smart water meter, garage door opener.
They had some kind of deal with Amazon surely because it came with some amount of time free.
My entire neighborhood came with ring doorbells pre installed and eero routers.
I swapped out to the Logitech doorbell which I like better anyway
I meant in terms of e waste mostly, disposable pod vs disposable device
Looking back, the Juul product seems preferable to the current situation
The money was spent on more MacBooks, more iPads, more buildings, more smart TVs, more consultants, more School Bullshit System as a Service, more scoreboards, more $50,000 signs in front of schools.
“social justice”
So they spend all their effort on social justice, but spend none of their money on it? You should move to the South, you can pick a charter/magnate/whatever school with no special education and no busses. Keeps out the pesky blacks and retarded.
Somewhat of a pain though since my son has autism and services are pretty shit compared to where I lived in NJ
So they possibly said something to try and sound smart, but hedged with “possibly” so that nobody could ask for details or challenge them. Possibly peak HNery
It’s 2025, kids just pull out their phone now
virtually indestructible
Owned a Nokia in 2003 as well and it was destructed by some water. It had no Nokia Care and my grandma refused to buy me a new one.
text without looking at the screen
I do it all the time by dictating.
It’s telling that they didn’t specifically address it at the negative experience and you filled that in yourself
And who exactly is this happening to? Who are the wrong people? Who are they swatting?
We all know exactly what is going down with immigration, but vaguely alluding to that instead of just saying it while pretending any given person is in danger would be dishonest.
It’s always like this though. Vague blurry imagery of perceived threats, no details.
