Truenas (linux) has been like that for me. Repurposed my last pc, added a pci-e sas/sata card, add 8 hdd's. Installed it 2 years ago and its been auto updating and i have been hardly having to deal with it, at most an hour a month to check the status and maybe add or remove some docker container stuff thats running on there.

Any recommendations for KM software that works with wayland (like barrier / synergy)? Thats been holding me back so far.
I think the trick is keep generating the code from your configuration on regular basis, if not every build. Is what we used to do with generating code for our front-end based on entities in Java decade ago. With enough test coverage for testing correctness.
Sort of novel idea on a Tjasker windmill. I will be surprised if this ever makes it out of the idea stage though.
The new Casio DW-H5600 has solar charging and amazingly long battery life. I was pretty anti-smartwatch but i like g-shock squares and ended up getting it been surprisingly good.
So rich people who can afford their accountant fees to hide their income, like with taxes, will pay almost nothing for energy, while the essentially broke person will pay more.
What does a wechat token look like, as in can i scan my repo to see if i do not leak anything unwanted to wechat?
That said, could one also generate tokens and essentially DDOS the wechat org by having them inform their customers unnecessarily?
We had a local amazon competitor that opened up its store to chinese sellers too, and it shows. Basically the same garbage fake products end up on searches for brand name products. I don't get why the real stores using them for selling next to their own still do? Also the main company skirts liability and returns and acts like its not their problem.
There is no such thing as ethical ad. Why would anyone leave money on the table and not do scummy / google / facebook ads. Not like anything is stopping them unless the ad industry gets killed by law.
Your also missing the ads in podcast content too. Its the curse that youtube now has as well. You pay for advert free content yet its embedded in the content anyway.
I have landed a software development gig working for my countries government. Pay is good, especially for the low work stress, 36 hour workweek and 6 weeks of PTO. Finding the right employer really helped me get out of rat race.
I don't think the initial script / idea is a good indication of where a movie / show is going. A lot more of it has to do with investment into locations, sets, props, technology used to shoot it, skill of crew and director, actors, editing.
Can someone explain to me, i live in a country that doesn't have credit scores, limits loans rates to something sane, why you would use a predatory payment lender that will balloon? Seems like a very high risk gamble especially if you have the money and even higher gamble if you do not have the ability to pay a loan.
I have a similar setup, however it seems that video doesn't want to play in browsers with the networked audio for some reason. Anyone else experience that?
In all the situations i have had to work on microservices it generally means the team just works on all the different services, now spread out over more applications. Doing more integration work vs actual business logic. Because the fancy microservices the architect wanted doesn't mean there's actually money to do it properly or even have an ops team.
Also for junior team members a lot of this stuff works via magic because they can't yet oversee where the boundaries are or do not understand all the automagically configuration stuff.
Also the amount of works on my machine with docker is staggering even if the developers laptop's are the same batch / imaged machine.
Transport cost are too high forcing people to use alternatives like walking.
Was it a HP by any chance. I got a Zbook and its the first laptop in more than a decade i can't get to work with linux. Starting 20 or so docker containers with docker compose kills something and makes it freeze / lock up.
I didn't think it was hard not to be compatible i suppose HP tried their best.
Also avgas still mostly has lead in it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avgas
Does github guarantee that my private repo's content are not being leaked this way in the future?
I wish they used a more hygienic bottle, the thing always leaks its disgusting.
Most of the commercial consulting companies i worked for found investing in their staff a waste of resources because they can walk away when they know something, yet wanted you to stumble around and be ineffective when using new technologies, mostly because that time was billable to a customer. Learning was after hours.
I work for a government organization now and they have a yearly budget for courses and access to some of the large course platforms and the requirement to spend 4 hours a week on it during work hours/ on company time.
Northern European male: Maybe, sort of depends on what kind of contract you have. If you get equity or have social plan / profit sharing good and fair healthcare and other secondary benefits like education and leave and there is the ability to carve a career path and the other side is supportive i would be more receptive to not bail for greener pastures at the first downturn or setback. Its reasonably hard to fire people here tough.
Bailing on any of the above and not holding their end i have moved to another job before.
Without any security like you would have in at will states in usa i would not be loyal at all, if they can fire you they can stuff it too when i dont think its going at its best.
And this article written by William Gibson is still relevant all these years later: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disneyland_with_the_Death_Pena...
I think slacking is maybe not the right term, i see a lot of people who are fed up with the pointlessness of their work and they are just going trough the motions to get the paycheck. Also why feel any loyalty towards a company goal when that company can kick you out at any time.
Took 6 months off to take care for a family member, did not do any looking for a job but walked into one for a lot more pay and no more crunch / pressure at work. Also feels more useful than anything i did before. Took it since i could combine it with caring for that family member.
I spend my days without job doing fun projects and making toy programs for myself improving the skills i wanted too instead of just another crud application that was pointless.
If you have nothing too do you do feel like you are wasting your days. especially if you have a hard deadline.
Dutch one: https://rijkswaterstaatstrooit.nl/
I will give it a go this weekend, thanks :)
How is the latency between systems? I currently use a mixer to mix multiple pcs into my headphone for working at home and my home pc and game pc.
If the latency is good enough i would rather isolate these systems instead of using a mixer and deal with all the ground loop issues i have.
The mink industry should and will be killed of in the future anyway. In the Netherlands we had quite a few infections as well and were going to end this industry in a few years, this might speed it up.
How do people build recommendation engines?
Poorly, its either shovel so much shit against a wall to see what sticks (youtube) or you sorta watched this for 10 minutes to see if you liked it but you didn't but here is more (netflix).
Curated lists made by humans are still nicer.
