Judging someone because they mixed double and single quotes is silly. That is easily fixable with a linter that they might have decided not to include for the sake of time.
This is something I think as well. But what's stopping manufacturers from putting 4G chips inside of it?
I have no clue how trivial this is. But I'd assume it is, in which case you're only really "safe" if you open it up and inspect it yourself I guess.
The name being childish is not really relevant imo. What's so mature about "google" or "facebook"?
Other than that, I agree with what you said. Bangs are extremely useful, and are the primary reason why I stick to DDG as well!
