Good designers and programmers do care about people of all ages, colors, orientations, genders, and ability. If tech is to make the biggest positive impact possible everyone must be on board.

Not quite. One of the biggest features of Moose is it's concept of roles. They're in some senses similar to typeclasses in Haskell and Traits in Rust.

I don't know what Google pays, but I know several interns (including one freshman) working for similarly large companies pulling down $45+/h (Which works out to over $7k/mo before considering the free housing etc.)
