Severe CPU bottleneck normally implies that your CPU may need to be upgraded though? If you are running a 13900k, there isn't much room for that.

Yeh but it is still closed source, no? I guess if it is air gapped that could be fine, but we are talking mid level network gear here, so for 99% of its use, it isn't air gapped. It is enabling broader connectivity. So you would have to trust the closed source software at some point.

Sometimes you want mouse or dynamic menu in frame for highlighting. Most likely reason for print screen + paint IMO.

Yeh I built a dual 3090 machine and just to have those 2 cards run well cost a lot for all the other stuff. Workstation spec mobo, top tier PSU, CPU and memory with headroom for the system, not to mention storage and case and cooling. And this is just a hobbyist build. Cost would have easily doubled if I actually got server grade CPU and memory etc.

I think bettertouchtools is the best to get macos to the point of usability with regard to window management and other general OS QoL.

Linux really does beat out everything for this type of stuff imo. The best window management, sometimes even by default and everything customisable almost to the point of perfection.

I've read about something similar called split brain where there can be separate consciousness in the brain and maybe elsewhere. Interesting experiments have been done on it and it just all seems so weird. Very tricky figuring out this consciousness thing from the inside.

You might be waiting a while. If you read the documentation I think they get into to the reasons for that pretty thoroughly. As a side note, I think the prices for 5's and 6's is pretty reasonable right now (they seem to have fallen a bit from a year or 2 ago).

Do you know what else is expensive? Travelling long distances and crossing bodies of water with more cargo than can reasonably be carried, without a vehicle and somewhere to drive it.

At a point some time ago, I think around when Windows mobile OS was still a thing, they released a phone and a dock and you could use it as a desktop for modern apps. It was limited to apps due to architecture but that always seemed like the next step to me for many people. A mobile you could just use as a PC via a dock and run desktop apps on it. I think we will still see it, but it really felt like Microsoft was going to deliver years ago on it.

They are worse together. Achieving some fine balance of corporations may seem somewhat utopian but we are pretty far from utopia in the current day.

Building a mega corporation without big government/s I would argue is basically impossible. And local level governance is more likely and potent without big government. Again though, all of that is quite hard to achieve / see how to achieve when people with existing power enjoy the status quo control more of the levers than the masses, including the ones used to influence the masses.

Flatpaks are better than snaps IMO, but both are only good for certain apps due to the largely half baked implementations.
