Most of us learned a lot that way, trying to squeeze and make something work out of nothing. That's why we understand much more than kids today. In the end that is the reason I still optimize stuff in my corporate company and I have a pretty awesome job, so it's a good path.

Yeah, I'm not a dev and not using AI at all but had a need to create oauth keys and some APIs for some project... sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt and it's so complicated...but got it working in the end, thos it stops working after some time, it was like, Google, really?

that's what I always brag to my devs, why is our DB 1TB, and only 20 users are working in our app. They are collecting all garbage and saving it to DB. Poor development skills I would say. Our old app did the same thing, and after 15 years it was barely 100GB with tens of users. devs today are SELECT *. If it does not work, they say we need more resources. Thats why I hate cloud.

Lots of stuff on Amazon is also from Aliexpress or Temu. Crap, so if I need crap I'll try it on Aliexpress.

Provider will not support my modem that is for sure so if you have any issues you are on your own. I use my own Mikrotik + Zyxel PMG3000 GPON SPF and no issues at all.

We are a small team in big company, and management that made wrong decisions is still somewhere there but not my direct management, still getting same paycheck, car, cards and benefits but new managers (that accepted to take over and got brand new car for 100k€, cards and bonuses, bells and whistles) started to layoff workers so we know this is the end for my team, and of course they will do whatever it takes to "save the product", but not fix the the real issue... lack of good developers to fix terrible bugs in our product.

Make people unemployed and desparate so they will work for some other private company like Amazon or Tesla for pennies. It works fine in Russia, literally millions are volunteering to kill people in Ukraine for money, so why not try it in USA?

What I don't like is that most voice assistances perform really bad on my native language so I don't use them at all. For english speakers yes, but for all other not so much. I guess it will get better.

I never understood why one app has to cover everything. Apps are bloatware today. Same goes for Windows. All I wanted worked on 98SE or XP. How did OS get from 1GB to 30GB for listening music, surfing, some office, watching pictures? Ah yes, teams, onedrive, defender, firewall (I have my own hardware why do I need this forced) and other cloud integration no one asked for and if they ever forced only online account, that's where I draw the line with MS and I'm sure they will do it soon. They badly need and want our data.

True. In our storage we had complete servers and storage originally packaged in case server in our Datacentar would die. After x years we decommissioned both of them. It was a heartbreaking moment to throw stuff to recycling that was not used and mint packaged. I secretly hide some Pentium I laptops that came with storage and gave them to collectors.

Social media or news or tv/netflix/streaming influence your life alot. Just stop using it and you will feel much better.
