Wow, This really hits home. Senior Engineer here currently seeking a job. I had a really interesting test project - https://gist.github.com/cmerrick/d0d8812f1c31e625adfd3333263... that was given after the first interview. I liked it way better than a test. I will say the majority of interviews have been fairly high level when discussing prior work and projects. Hopefully it will happen soon.

I was going to speak on this as the pictures look just like my Eurorack. The module I have called Maths does all the arithmetic functions needed.
So does this mean our company will stop forcing this Avaya plugin into all the browsers? Just hopeful thinking. It has caused many hours of troubleshooting as it injects it's code into every page.
Yes, small cobblestone streets in Philly? I wonder how it handles other bad/rude drivers? In the video I saw it merging on to the freeway, but sometime you have to go over the speed limit to get in front of the car that is in the merge lane, will it be courteous to allow others to merge properly?
That's the way I have always heard it framed,as what is your definition of disease?
Yes the crazy thing is I remember going to London back in 90, and at that time in the US, most major stores would request that you checked backpacks in before going into the store, to prevent theft. I walked in to Tower records in Piccadilly Circus and handed my bag, expecting they would give me a claim check, and they were freaking out. As they had been sending out the same message at that time due to the IRA bombings. So they gave me the full instruction about unattended bags and how they were more worried over terrorism than theft. Crazy how it is common here 20 years later.
I think "Ad tech" is a bit too generic as there are many players, and pieces in this game and some are very legit, while the others they talk about are not. Unfortunately the bad guys, give them all the bad image.
I agree with this. Working for an ad tech company this is something that somewhat goes beyond our ability, as the site itself would have to add this feature or open this data to the company doing the ads. It's very annoying when you go to one of those other places and know they don't do this.
I have a friend from Czech who looks just like that guy. I was wondering the same.
This was shown in the last episode of Arrow. Oliver was so mentally distraught over Felicity breaking up with him that he couldn't physically beat Vandal Savage, and all of Central City was destroyed.
I came here to say the same as it was a profound emotional experience the first time I took it.
Does anybody else feel sorry for them, you look like a turd with legs, your mouth looks like an anus, and you can't die easily. Maybe some sort of reincarnation hell?
I was thinking why we don't include these in the mars rovers and other space probes, see how they do on other planets. Is there some ethical problem with that? Like the prime directive.
Ow this hits home, my company had layoffs this week, and fortunately I wasn't on the block but many friends and co-workers were. People who should not have to be looking for work. Our company has acquired this weird Silicon Valley mentality that you should never work at a business for longer than 3-4 years.I know things can get stale after being somewhere for a while, but if you prune your employees every 5 years then you will never get any long term loyalty, or even talent that can make a differnce.
This is really cool, my home wifi network is called SNet.
I totally forgot about that! I used to give them 1600 Pennsylvania as my address. I was bike messenger at the time so I knew all the good addresses in DC and would give them all the big federal buildings.
So does using these new devices mean they will be using the flash bangs less? They should be able to see who all is inside and realize a child or person that is not the suspect?
Last time I was in RadioShack was in the 90's in Washington DC, and I went there for a connector, and there were literally 20 people in line all buying minutes for cell phones, with only one person in the store. I thought this was some sort of hidden camera reality/joke tv show. I just put the item down and left.
I can confirm this is industry wide when dealing with the big movie companies. I work in the big data industry and we have several of those clients under the MPAA and have had to go through multiple security audits just for their business.
This story reminds me of my current company. A large fortune 500 company that has recently had most leadership moved to Silicon Valley, in which there were major layoffs to most of the older engineers, based on a consultants suggestion. Most of these engineers maintained and supported older legacy and mainframe systems. Now everyone is scrambling to fill the gaps and it puts a toll on everyone. Not to mention the fear of current talent fleeing as the word is out that you don't spend more than 5 years here or you will be forced out.

Unless you work as Taxi driver, or Messenger.
this is in a somewhat rural area, so I'm really surprised the roads were even paved.
I thought you meant Andrew "Dice" Clay so that it makes a phrase like Hickory Dickory Dock...
Great job on the mixes. Next step is to try to exactly recreate the song without using samples, or try live mixing using hardware controllers and soft players.
Atlantic City is in New Jersey. Where everyone sues everyone else when they have an issue.
They used to do this in D.C. , but the problem was engraving into your new bike will void the frame warranty. The police used to use this registration as a way to stop any bike messenger and check if your bike was registered. If it wasn't they impounded it and you had to pay a fine to get it back, usually $5.
Let's see what we can do to address these issues, 1) get a hosting company outside the US, and that is hardened and resilient enough to shrug off frivolous C&D letters. 2) get a PO BOX address, or just use a mail forwarding service outside California so you can make money on the affiliate program again. Just look at the grey area sites (Torrents) to see how it is done.
i think the anti-college attitude comes from the cost of college being far more of a burden than what you can make from the degree. I was a self taught developer who learned a lot from reading stuff on the internet and lots of books, before going to college and getting that expensive piece of paper. In which most of the teachers that taught me were actually behind on the technology, which can cause quite a bit of conflict when you know that the class is being taught incorrectly.
So no pay for wait time. I know from being a bike messenger you usually got paid for wait time, I guess this isn't the traditional messenger job.
