I'd like an option to run against a local ollama server, that would give folks an option to keep this completely local.

only finds about 200 MB of purge suggestions with a mailbox of 15GB, but deleting a few and running again finds a few more.

Gmail does some classification, it might be useful to have scopes that match those: promotions, updates, social and forums.

IMAP support would be useful for a yahoo account even if it's slower/less accurate. This is better than manual cleanup.

Some ideas for seeing more examples:

1. Add a donate button. Some folks probably just want to see more examples (or an example in their field, but don't have a specific paper in mind.)

2. Have a way to nominate papers to be examples. You could do this in the HN thread without any product changes. This could give good coverage of different fields and uncover weaknesses in the product.

I commit the images alongside the markdown files in GitHub. My site is has numerous images and there are logical groups of posts. I make those logical groups of posts a git submodule, so I don't have all posts on my machine (or iPad) at one time.

Working Copy (git for iPad) handles submodules reasonably well, I have a few that I'm working on cloned on it and others are not so I don't use so much space.

There are a number of church presentation systems that integrate with planning center to get data, like ProPresenter, EasyWorship, etc. You'd need to get them to update their software to support your system as well. The easy way for you to do that is to clone the planning center API worts and all, which means you're probably just building a planning center clone.

churchapps.org is competing in this space with open source software and the price of free for their hosted versions. I don't know what their adoption rate is.

The switching costs are large in terms of time and effort for small churches. It's often one or two persons leading the charge to switch. They may not fully understand how every person interacts with the system, but they would need to set up the new system and do a trial run, likely in parallel with the existing system. Then train staff and volunteers how to use their part of the system.

The company isn't shutting down, probably just an attempt to get more subscriptions.

The company used to support Strava integration from their app in Free Ride mode. That broke last year, the app still reports that a ride happened, but the ride is reported as 0 miles, 0 minutes long. I have the low end bike and rower from them. The machines are great physically.

I use the render hooks feature of Hugo to generate srcset attributes for my images. I don't see render hooks in many other SSGs.

Downsides of Hugo are the documentation isn't great and the go templating language is quirky. I suspect that poor documentation is a common issue for many static site generators.

I remember that time. I was taking a graduate level intro to graphics class and we had an assignment to write a ray-tracer and turn in a printout of the final image along with a printout of the source code. The instructor allowed any programming language, so I used a different one for each assignment.

For the ray tracing assignment I used postscript, the PS image operator calls a function to return each sample in the image. The transform matrix made scaling the image easy.

My code was two pages long, up from one page because of the many comments. I think the next shortest was 15 pages. It also ran faster than most others because of the faster processor.

The Metrowerks profiler and linker worked together to optimize locality in the binary, the focus was on PowerPC code. The linker could generate the static call tree, but the profiler could generate a dynamic call tree of what was actually called. Separating out the cold portions of the call tree into portions of the executable that didn't get paged in was the goal.

I worked on the Profiler and I seem to remember that Microsoft was one of the developers that put a bunch of effort into using this to optimize the Office suite on Mac. I remember the release of Word that used it was snappier.

I tried this a couple years ago with Netlify and Hugo targeting 1x, 2x and 3x sized images. The processing time is too slow with more than around 500 images, resulting in build timeouts.

I switched to checking in the alternate image sizes and using a hugo image render hook to check for the existence of the alternative images to generate the appropriate srcset.

More anecdotal data. I ride with a group of retired folks. About 60% of the 75+ year olds ride eBikes. Riding an eBike enables them to continue riding with the group. We've got several couples where one rides a regular bike and the other an eBike so that they can keep up and not be completely worn out on longer rides.

My wife and I did a bike tour in southern France last year. She rode an eBike and that made the hills (and riding into the Mistral) doable for her.

My father got an eBike at 80 years old and rides it for most errands in his small midwest town when the weather allows, including grocery shopping.

So I can easily understand that eBikes can lead to more miles ridden.

My anecdotal data does not back up the claim that eBike riders log more miles than non-eBike riders. But we've got some exceptional older riders in our group with several logging 7000+ miles a year and one that logs 17,000-18,000 miles a year.

I'm hoping it's targeted towards folks that have intermittent issues. HealthKit has fields defined to store some information about various physical and mental symptoms and also nutrition, but there isn't a good way to populate the fields in iOS 16 and earlier. Some of the fields have been around since iOS 8, but Apple has regularly added to the list through iOS 16.

Even if the app doesn't do any correlation, it will be very helpful to have the data collected into HealthKit so your health care provider has good data to work with.

There are numerous tools available for helping with financial decisions. There are is a great community at Bogelheads [0] that you can learn lots from. Given that you are asking about RRSP, I'll guess that you are in Canada, Financial Wisdom and finiki are specific to Canada.

Finiki doesn't have a very long list of Canadian calculators [3]. The US has quite a few [4].

Why do you want to export them? If it's because you no longer trust Apple, then you don't want to export them, as these PassKeys use Apple for attestation. You'd want to create new PassKeys with a different attestation provider.

There are a number of university courses with slides on SIMD basics. I'm not aware of any tutorials with exercises. Given that SIMD and GPU programming can be similar, you can probably repurpose some GPU exercises.

The ISPC compiler[0] generates SIMD code from a C variant. The Godbolt compiler explorer[1] supports ISPC, so you can play with it in your browser. It allows you to see the disassembled compiler output in the web browser.

What do you take photos of? The mirrorless "replacement" for the 7D is the recently announced R7 [0].

The R7 does have a built-in intervalometer, if that's what you mean by taking continuous photos. The other interpretation of continuous photos is holding down the shutter release and taking photos as fast as it can.

Generally, newer cameras do better in low light. Autofocus in low light is improved in the current crop of mirrorless cameras vs DSLRs.
