wow... yeah... strongly strongly agree. I love email, rss, irc, etc and still use them today and strongly disagree that we shouldn't educate people coming up about these tools.

It's very easy for people today to forget the 1800s that had significant periods of deflation and thus one of the reasons the federal reserve was created... although they allowed deflation to happen during the great depression as well. There is certainly some debate that can be had about the way to easy money policies that exist today (and I do think it's far too dovish), but people need to learn their history and realize the damage that deflation does.

Couldn't agree more. compose is a wonderful tool that lets you avoid the k8s complexity if you don't need it.

Heavy compose user here, and when I tried the podman equivalent of compose was missing some functionality that made me move back.

Have to agree. 280 characters is not that much better than 140, and what good ideas are compressed into that format. Sure you can link to a blog post, but then you might as well use rss.

Definitely agree with this. Twitter and other social media has really forced the short 140 character snippet or image to be favored over thoughtful posts and blog articles.

I don't agree that centralization in Europe is the answer, that's exactly how you end up relying on others manufacturing capacity. Decentralize more so when the political winds change you are not at the mercy of other countries if your own nation has no manufacturing capacity to speak of.

The cloud is just another backup option and you should have 3. That being said, you expect more from a paid service.

Agreed. All countries want to be seen as leaders, and this can nudge them in the right direction.

My local library is wonderful. My kid has activities, learns reading, draws, etc. and it offers computer skills to those who wouldn't otherwise learn them. Very good use of local tax dollars.

Feels like there has been a bit of a resurgence lately, not that I have any hard data to back that up. The major players ie google and now apple have dumped it, but most blogs and news sites still have rss feeds.
