Im in a different Flytrex delivery area and I don’t have exact answers but probably some insight. There is a strip mall or two with like 15 restaurants and these are the ones on their service so the driving is really under a mile. Also they seemingly have a new 30% off code for one particular restaurant every few days, likely to funnel orders and make the “last mile” delivery person able to batch pick up. The drone really only took under 4 minutes to fly to my house (I was on the outer edge of the delivery ring so it’s gotta be the furthest atm).

They don’t have to deal with traffic or 3rd party delivery drivers. From hitting order to my first bite was under 30 minutes (on my second order, my first order was super late but they comped me - the first delivery they have a member watch the drone land in your yard to ensure it’s working).

Unless I misread the article it will be more expensive for non-tesla evs (the mentioned about the cost going towards supporting just that and building it out furhter), tesla's would pay the same. There would be no priority given either way afaik.

That's fine that MCD does that but Tesla already has 30k+ stations around the USA with no reader. A retrofit to include that wouldn't be cheap OR fast and it would introduce another point of failure.

What is with people and not wanting to install EGS on their pcs? Is it just the hip thing to do, they've seen it plastered all over reddit so they've decided to jump on board? It's another game store... they have 1-2 free games every single week, and they're not junk games. Get the free games on the website and when you come around to installing it someday you'll have a huge library. There was backlash against Steam when it first came out too, look now.

what about subscriptions? say providing a service or website access to a user every month?

honestly, if this popped up more than 2 weeks ago i'd wonder the same thing. i love the way the mac trackpad works, including the scroll direction. but i plugged a mouse in and was doing some gaming stuff. it is unintuitive as hell to have the scroll wheel go the 'opposite' way for zooming on an rts. i changed the setting for the mouse, and later when on the trackpad again, wondered why the hell it was backwards. no idea why 1 setting, in 2 locations, uses the same config value.

really get's tough when the 'entry' point of those grades now has double the students (new incoming students; not those also repeating a grade), as people will want their kids to start schooling at the 'normal' (maybe this changes?) age.

i understand wireless is tied to the internet backbone, but i'd imagine with so many people at home, wireless data congestion must be at an all time low, with everyone (probably) on their home wireless networks rather than using cellular data.

the fact you have to hand your card to a (hopefully) trusted source to swipe the card on a (hopefully) trusted terminal means it shouldn't be scraped there. the outdoor card swipers are just open to the public 24/7 for someone to stealth slip on a device

whew, this garbage is starting to make that tesla worth it

any software the bank is licensing can run into the 10's of millions per year, for anything they use: loan orignation, underwriting, etc. they have a lot of users also so just think about their basic workspace cost per user for all the software necessary.

one of the 2 hardest things in programming. i agree it should be fun, but should't library naming directly tie into readable code. sure, it'd be boring to call it 'simple debug library', i dunno

After reading that, due to a majority of their reasoning this should be titled "Seven ways the world is not designed for smaller people". I am not a big dude myself, but more than half the points were about clothing/uniforms/protective gear not fitting correctly. Am I strawmanning this?

edit: I can already see flaw in my thinking as I sit here. It is unfair that these industries aren't prepared to support women, who are on average smaller, where they are happy to support the average male.

When I was finishing up University I had been interning at a company (for around 2 years) that had some roots in IDW (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investigative_Data_Warehouse - interesting if you haven't ever heard of it); really just made me think of certain 'other' gov agencies and their trove of data, but I never considered how it was searched. We were all about the crawling/searching (indexing) of data from all kinds of sources (websites/emails/various dbs). One product ran a search against this dataset (using name, email, address, phone #, ssn, and other pii) and would spider out a graph with all possible connections and other associated data. Not sure regret is the right word, as it was cool, but I can only imagine how it's being used. The company has gone under more than once actually, since it was being funded by only 1-2 clients whose funding wasn't very stable.
