I'm sorry but I fail to see the point of this. you can choose to disable cookies, will you be able to disable this new thing? if so, what's the big deal about it, other than the same principle with a different name, probably to avoid some EU legislation.

Advertisers and trackers have been doing the same thing this thing is supposed to do for years. And where will they implement it? the only way would be at the application level, so every browser now also has to implement internal tracking services to aggregate all the data in their flocs, to then come back to the user to spice up their request? come on...

I'll keep supporting efforts to make the Internet a more privacy focused place. Advertisers have been buying TV ads for decades and I my TV hasn't asked me what I want to share with it, yet.

he was asked about this in the H3 podcast, and said that really, if he really started with the intention of making humor or of the situation, he's been steering it more into creating a platform for this people to be themselves. he doesn't want that the people feel that he's making fun of them, or he will lose his own content. The only thing that keeps me from using Jellyfish over Plex is because of the TV apps. My Samsung Smart TV has a really outdated but functional Plex client, meanwhile, my Netflix and YouTube apps are updated regularly, although they're not as feature-rich as the Roku versions.

The Samsung Smart TV OS apparently is being cycled out for more modern alternatives. Surely the Jellyfish team knows this but with the ever-changing landscape of TV OS's, it seems like it's really difficult to support a large quantity of devices.

What's your take on Android widgets? I used to think they were all I ever wanted in a system only to use them less and less with every iteration of the OS, now fewer and fewer apps come with widgets, or even try to use them for something really useful. Has the user lost the appetite for at-glance desktop tools?

It's weirder than that, you aren't really paying for the items directly from Sony's platform when you play on the PS4, you're buying V-bucks, Fortnite's currency, and that's what you use to buy your items.

For one, the solution should be keeping two different V-Buck wallets: one for Sony, and another for everyone else, legal issue solved, moving on. So, because it's not happening, there must be something we're missing here...

The Linux community is already past the problems of proprietary drivers. We are talking about people that reverse engineered a full network stack, graphic cards, audio devices, you name it.

If you build it, they will work.

I was thinking the same thing, Treble sound like the perfect solution for the kind of problem this project aims to fix, but I realised that the scope of this project is different. There's no way they can back-port Treble to older devices, and there's no pressure from consumers or manufacturers to do so. Project Treble aims to fix the fragmentation problem, but it does from this point on, older devices are not included.

There's also the fact that Android will keep on rolling, new features will be added and manufacturers will keep on using them as they see fit, so Treble can help users with a security update or two while that version of Android is supported, even if the manufacturer stops supporting their "vendor layer", but what will happen when Google drops support of Android O?

I'd say it seems to be a distribution of Chromium OS.

The fact is you can't just download and install Chrome OS into anything you want, just a Chromebook. This project seems to fix that.

lots of the comments here are in the "make a free version of Sid Meier's Civilization" fashion. I'd say you should look at your game and tell us what makes it different and unique aside from being Open Source.

First off, an Open Source game shouldn't look bad. I know it's a work of love and not a AAA game, but aspects of the game art can perfectly be improved, I'm a supporter of the less is more trend, and I love games that can deliver even when they use colors and shadows instead of cheap textures.
