Intended as analogy - but it is essentially a description of the DMRG algorithm (quantum chem). Only pair-wise operators there but the theory approaches exact when there are enough terms in your tensor product (iterations ~ depth) and a large enough embedding dimension.

If we - as an example - didn't assume the cosmological constant was constant and expected it to vary over large distances, could we arrive at a working model of the universe? maybe high density dark matter/energy regions are the same as regions of high/low values of the CC. Very grand vision.

I have recently wondered about this. When we talk about the big bang, the mostly-uniform CMB, accelerated expansion, etc. aren't we always axiomatically presuming the correctness of the cosmological principle (which, in a hand-wavy way says the universe plays the same game everywhere). I would think all we can say confidently is that the principle is working out in our locale.

Though, I couldn’t help googling the judge and she’s had some interesting cases lately involving various Trump related things. She had to recuse herself there as well because her husband was in talks with the Mueller investigation. I guess this is more common than I’d think for prominent DC connected families.

When the FBI (i.e. the federal government) is asking a public company to censor you... I'd say it's getting dicey. If we don't have a free speech problem, then we have an abuse of executive powers problem - but we already knew that.

One might argue Twitter didn't have to take the censorship advice from the feds but IMO they shouldn't be doing this type of lobbying adversarial to US citizens.
