I'm currently using a self hosted instance of lightdash connected to a dbt project and I can see this being really efficient for data exploration for business users
quite interesting!

aren't profit margins the main drivers for the decisions leading to this post to begin with? if revenue was all they cared about, I don't think what's happening would come to fruition
you'd have to write every comment expecting it to become the top comment
Several family members firmly believe GPT stands for Gepeto.
Just wondering, why pi?
In Spanish this would look like "dijo adiós demasiado". Although unsure how to fit the "before" without being too literal.
I find the shared storage to be naively useful to share info between sites. But... You know, that will never be possible.
I'm being alerted of my ad blocker on this news site, on an article related to there being almost zero ads on a city. A bit ironic.
Not sure about "the tech is well understood" given the LLM itself is a black box in regards to how it works internally, even Microsoft researches admit it (Sparks of Artificial General Intelligence: Early experiments with GPT-4).
I'm not sure the quantity of data will be a differing factor once the LLM reaches a certain point of parameters.
I can't use Firefox in my work environment. It doesn't have some Chrome extensions that make it impossible for me to use, such as ones for Google services. It sucks because I dearly miss container tabs. If Firefox could support Chrome extensions, that would be game changer.
The whisper implementation is awesome. Thanks for creating it.
Now the next step is to use Stable Diffusion to create chemical components via molecular graphs
Any link to the tiktok article?
I find my self being very passionate about trying to start my own business. I'm currently building an offline-first budgeting app using the zero-based envelopes model.
This has taught me a lot about new technologies, and although I haven't been able to launch it, it feels like the biggest thing I've worked on.
My current problem is I don't know how to simplify it in order to launch something quicker. I'll be working slowly on it, chipping away at it, line by line.
I'd love to use Firefox as my daily driver for work. But due to lack of some extensions I'm not able to, mainly Tag Manager and Optimize, both Google products.
This is interesting.
If anything, with this I've learned that companies like Framework have a huge advantage. If that space ever manages to create a 'fixable' phone a-la Framework laptop, it's gonna work on so many levels for so many different people and regulators.
It's far too rare for a founder to maintain control in that way while also growing the company to the size of Facebook is. For example, Basecamp has managed to maintain control but it's nowhere near their size.
Would Meta be able to build a federated Metaverse? If they are, things are different.
So you are saying they have to? Otherwise the iPhone would be useless.
Would this be helpful in any way for fall detection? Especially for the elderly. I wouldn't want a camera watching my parents for example.
I think so, if it can track acceleration it may be able to do so. Would have to play around with it to know for sure.
Brave gets a 100% there. Interesting, I thought it was not as good.
With AWS CDK and Amplify developing at the speeds they currently are, I think businesses like Vercel will have it really hard in the coming years to attract customers.
Happy for them though! I've been using them for a long time, but I've also just started learning CDK and Amplify and I think these could provide the same benefits, and in some (very specific) cases with zero costs. This plus databases such as Fauna or DynamoDB, and I wouldn't be able to see my self using any other thing for a good long while.
Does the banner asking for donations count as ads? If we assume that, wouldn't this hurt their ability to keep their servers running?
You can disallow Featured Snippets with `max-snippet`. Read the docs here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/79812
That certainly is the best way to maximize luck. One such type of event is getting to know people, be it through work, networking, online w/e.
Aww this is such great news. Didn't know how I missed it. Really nice to see privacy being relevant to more people. Been using since 2016 and the results have improved tremendously!
What is your road plan for the next year? How do you plan on growing?
