and the thing people seem to not understand: how exactly do you _expect_ to be able to notice this change? Its something that happens after you take it for a prolonged period of time (>7days) and only has a minor/medium effect.
It doesn't make you a genius. I think a better view on it is that it may mitigate some of the adhs symptoms (at least for me).
I can keep on track for a significantly longer time since ive started supplementing with it at ~15g/day - and while i dont feel a difference, i can observe it when actually paying attention to what i do / how often i drift off etc.
with all the hype around kimi i actually renewed my subscription (last time i tried it out was on 2.5 release) - just the 40€ one.
Its hard to compare that one to my regular sub of anthropic (107€), but everyone always says how much cheaper it is so i thought it was worth a try.
1.5 days later ive went through more then 50% of my weekly usage and decided to renew the regular anthropic sub too.
The API Pricing is definitely cheaper, but anthropics subscription budget seems to equalize that advantage right now. also kimi code feels like claude code from ... september 2025
also - considering how they announced they'd temporarily close subscriptions to make sure they can service customers... i was slightly surprised that there was no issue subscribing, less then 1 day after that announcement. Makes you think if that was just a marketing stunt
luxeries also haven't gotten cheap, really - their manufacturing has been outsourced into places which often don't pay decent wages - so it's just out of sight/out of mind.
We're currently living in a time where some of the issues are being hidden by the nature of a global market - it's friggin impossible to make any good analysis with a global market, it has just too many influences and ways to hide criteria...

That's not true, you need to provide a password to read the passwords saved in the browser whereas cookies can be read without any hassle from the developer tools
Cookies can also be queried programmatically, whereas passwords need to have the users auto fill active and interact with the input element
Most extensions have effectively full access to your cookies, not to your passwords - which is a real attack vector (session exfiltration) which is actively being used by had acteues
There are ofc server set cookies which are not programmatically queryable, but that's not the norm (and they're still visible via the developer tools, so the core statement remains untrue)

it really depends on how well its actually implemented imo - and i have no idea how well this particular case is in parctice, as i've never worked with perforce.

Earlier today I made Claude code implement a feature with fable. It worked roughly 60 minutes and used around 30% of my 100€ subs 5h sessions.
Then I typed /code-review in a second terminal/clean session after the analysis was done (no code changes) the usage was 99%. I then asked it to write that into a review.md so I could restart from that the next day. Sadly the last % wasn't enough for that.
Ymmv, these models behave very differently with no discernable reason. Usually reviews(even with fable) take like 10-20%... Yet suddenly you get it to burn through 65-69% in 15 minutes or so

Eh, realistically speaking the camera is it's main selling point. If you want just audio, why not get eg an aftershockz headset. They've been around for over 10 yrs and work very well for that exact usecase (speaker that doesn't block your ears whatsoever)

That's true, I just wanted to maybe add a new perspective to 101008 view that if he enjoyed working with technical constraints, he can still target eg embedded systems with massive resource constraints - and also to force an acknowledgement that the reason for his likely nostalgia to this kind of coding is likely more related to the mental freedom he enjoyed while working back then ... Seriously, my first reaction to reading this headline was a knee jerk "are you insane", but this whole thread is just people arguing out of their arse while claiming authority. As of today, it was never attempted. It is also possible that the kids gain an advantage by learning to use llms to teach themselves things, which would be positive for their future.

Well, nothing is easier then adding constraints. Removing them is what's difficult - so why don't you add them back if it makes you a better programmer and you enjoy doing it more?
Personally, I think the reason you enjoyed it more as a teenager is just down to the fact you were fully in control of what to do and had no external pressure to earn money etc, so if anything you had less constraints - at least from my point of view

What's also massively undervalued is medium high dosage of the amino acid creatine. If you take >10g/day you'll have a much easier time staying focused over long periods. It becomes noticeable only after consistent intake however, and only if you actually pay attention to it - as you won't feel any different. (And it's effect is also supposedly diminished with high Coffein intake)

It's just spottily enforced because it's just written to the context in markdown - it's basically one of the very first attempts from the very beginning of Claude code.

It takes a lot of time to successfully deliver a product. Even at the more "extreme" end of expectation - like saying it's a X10 multiplier (I'd disagree on that, it's more like 0.5-3 - depending on the type of work you're working on) you'd still need multiple years to go from first line of code to displacing established players. Things just don't change that fast.
