The production values weren't very good for the time the show aired. It was about the seasons long overarching plot, and the characters who grew over those seasons which were relatively unheard of concepts in TV SciFi at the time.

In this scenario, we bought a 'luxury' sedan (apple watch) that is able carry goods (quake 1) but Toyota wants you to pay them $100 dollars a year for permission to do that (dev account). And they get to decide what goods you're allowed to carry (app store).

There are just as many useless managers as there are useless reports. The reason you see so many 'managers suck' posts is because they're in a position of authority over the talent they manage. That's all.

That's just for mining, though. I can be part of the validation/consensus process for the BTC blockchain by running a node which you can run on anything with a 500gb hard drive. People use Pi's to do it. You need zero bitcoin to run a node. This is the difference.
