My though, because I haven't, is that if you want to essentially work on someone else's idea then go be an employee, otherwise the first actually passionate person will steal the show as soon as they show up.

Well, living in a highly militarized US city that sees vendors come in for various presentations regularly, not only is "lethality" a word that businesses use to sell, but also one everyone gets excited to hear. It's definitely weird at first as a civilian. But I see how it quickly becomes CAC/LTV.

Undoubtedly you didn't "deserve" it. The voting system is just a way for the prevailing cliques to signify who's present. This thread is ripe with the hateful and helpless young men referred to in the article, evident by many of the comments. The worse part is that growing trend in this direction on HN. I'd say HN is currently experiencing max Q and I'm not sure it will make it to the other side without succumbing to the pressure(ie decent people leaving the site for good).
The experience here is worse than before, but still better than elsewhere. I think that means HN is ripe for innovation!

In all seriousness, if we are to succeed as a society, then ignorantly maintaining what are mostly over generalizations and stereotypes related to gender is a failing proposition. And that involves anything that existed pre-the-whole-world-is-now-connected.
That means

But, for most of our parents it was binary and decision was obvious.
People fantasize about going back to that. Even the young kids, Gen Z, which is most concerning. Something alarming is that this comes from a feeling of helplessness. That and similar feelings explains the increase in massacres, hatred, and even why terrorists traditionally came from countries in turmoil. The kids need to be feeling hopeful not helpless.

My dad was great, but through divorce, I had other great male role models, none of which you'd consider "feminine." However, it helped me understand the plurality of what it means to be a man. There are many ways to embrace your "natural" manhood that are beneficial to society. Animals rape each other, but we're not animals. Don't fall for the naturalistic fallacies.

That's the key, and also something that's unsolved. History shows that a lot of the money will be squandered in increasing "clever" ways, and it may take until the end of the decade before the public even realizes that it happened.

I'm not sure how this is unfair. Considering the way capital gains are taxed after the sale it seems like the grandfathered-in rent controls are just a lever at the opposite end of the spectrum. But of course, we don't want to give any levers to the poors so it has to go.
It needs to be significantly easier to buy a first house than a second house. Getting a first mortgage is "easy" until you factor in the "mortgage insurance" scam. Rent seeking should not be such an appealing option to make money. The result is a bunch of scummy landlords, essentially utilizing the poors to "keep down" the other poors through rent exploitation. Basically the "upper middle" class is the gatekeeper preventing lower classes from having social mobility by maximizing rent exploitation. It's a great system because it prevents the real upper classes from having to get their hands dirty.
I thought about mentioning those companies, but I considered them to be too small of a market comparatively. For example, almost everyone buys 12-24 packs of their semi-locally bottled water, including national brands Dasani & aquafina that come from local bottling companies. I can't talk about the water issues in Fiji and France, but my guess is that it's <1% the total volume of bottled water consumed in any given area (outside LA or NYC of course).
From what I understand, it's the opposite. I cannot get the same bottled water in the southeast as in the northeast, because it's bottled locally.
